After a Long Time

It has been a very long time, more than 10 years since the last time I ate at Fish & Co, One Utama but after reading PH's post about its tasty fish and chips, I was tempted to visit there again. Left: Artic (Pollock) F&C at MYR 22.95+ (MYR 25.25 nett) Right: The Best F&C at MYR 21.95+ (MYR 24.15 nett).

Top is Artic (Pollock) Fish - the colour is not as white as the Best F&C at the bottom. The batter for both is very crispy.

They served us the Fish and Chips very quickly in about 9 mins so I guess they did not have time to let the excess oil drip away resulting in a very oily serving pan.

Total price for 2 pax: MYR 49.40 nett.

Store front at One Utama.

    1. I believe all fish and chips include tartar sauce.

  2. Oh dear! I wouldn't like it to be so oily. Would always place anything deep fried on kitchen towels to soak away the excess oil. Have not been to Fish & Co for a long time too, not since Manhattan came to the scene.

    1. The dishes were served 9 mins after we placed our order so I believe that is too little time to soak away the excess oil.

    1. I guess we can soak away the excess oil ourselves with kitchen paper towels.

    1. It was very crispy the batter and we can just close our eyes to the oil.

    1. I can't remember exactly how it looks like 10 years ago but I think the location is still the same.

  6. That is definitely a lot of oil! It'd have looked better if they'd let it drain away first.

I don't see many people in this place so haven't tried it before.

    1. They want to serve it piping hot I guess so they did not drain the oil but straight away serve it direct from the fryer. Usually when I pass by it, business looks good by the number of seats occupied.

  7. I like the fish and chips here. So which did you prefer? I think the Artic Fish and Chips is nicer that the Best Fish and Chips.

  9. I am shocked to hear that you got served in 9 minutes. So lucky! I looked at your time visited was 11:51am. Now wonder I always ate during the peak dinner time when the chefs went haywire with orders.
