River Home Seafood

Countdown to year 2018: 4 days to go (inclusive of today). Now back to the Christmas decor for Midvalley Mall before we move on to food. Previously I just share 1 photo and now here are more photos.

This is what I shared previously for the UK train station decor and the question is "where is the train?".

A closer look at the train station before looking at the train. Please click on the above image for a larger photo. One huge bear sitting there near the red telephone booth.

Here is another bear. Do click on the above image to view the larger photo.

Here is the train! Please click on the above image to get a larger photo.

A nice red and green antique train.

These 4 bears are on the train

Big Big Bears!

*** Now for the Food:

Yam basket - MYR 35+ (10% service charge = MYR 38.50 nett). There is a choice of chicken or squid and I chose chicken.

The menu says cashew nuts with prawns but the receipt says song zi (pine nuts) with prawns but there were no nuts of any sort in this dish but we left it as such without asking the manager to check this dish as all of us were very hungry waiting for the food. Due to the prawns this dish costs MYR 48+ (MYR 52.80 nett).

Crab meat and bean curd dish at MYR 12+ (MYR 13.20 nett). We finished eating the gravy too.

Green Dragon Vegetable - MYR 15+ (MYR 16.50 nett). We expected this dish to be green dragon vegetable with just garlic but it was served with mushrooms.

Steamed 3 types eggs (eggs, century eggs, salted eggs) at MYR 12+ (MYR 13.20 nett). This is a small portion served on a flat shallow big plate. One of my favourite dish.

Yin Choy (Amaranth greens) in superior soup - MYR 15+ (MYR 16.50 nett). Another one of my favourite dish.

Steamed river prawn - MYR 16 per 100g and this one costs MYR 48+ (MYR 52.80 nett). The roe is very creamy and tasty.

Total bill for 5 pax

River Home Seafood restaurant in Jaya

We were here for this fresh crabs promotion of MYR 48.80 for 3 fresh crabs but they were out of stock so we chose to still eat here but without the crabs. So sad.

  3. Always wanted to try and cook that egg trio but I never got round to it. So lazy - the spirit is willing and the flesh is weak. My girl and the mum were at MV, took a lot of photos of the decor too.

    1. It would be a piece of cake for you to cook the egg trio since you are a good cook. Did Melissa take many photos with the giant bears?

    1. The camera frames the screens to give a smaller story than the big picture the eyes can see.

  8. Never mind the missing crabs - the rest of the meal looks fabulous.

I've had the green dragon veg served with taugeh. Premium plus cheap ingredient together to bring down the average heh. Tasted all right.
