Good service

The previous time that I was here, I said that I would be back after 5 months for their Baked Buns with BBQ Pork and Steamed Egg Cakes. 6 months went by and here we are again but we did not order the items mentioned because we did not feel like having them at that time. Prices remain unchanged since our last visit and are shown here with the 6% GST and 10% service charge applied.

We chose to eat here because we were at Midvalley at 8.30 am and they were one of the few Dim Sum restaurants opened for business this early. Their service is also really fast and efficient so we were served promptly by local staff. No queues at that time.

Egg Tarts (3 in one serving) - MYR10.78 (around MYR3.60 each) - very light and crispy pastry, not that sweet so it was just right for me.

Mango Sago Pomelo - MYR10.23 - sweet with sago, pomelo sacs and mango cubes without artificial mango flavouring. It is served chilled without any shaved ice unlike some mango sago pomelo desserts served elsewhere.

Steam Spinach Dumpling (3 in one serving) - MYR9.13 (about MYR3.04 each). Thin translucent skin that breaks easily. Order this only if you like to eat spinach.

Pork Dumpling with Shrimp (4 in one serving - we ate two before taking a photo) - MYR12.65 (about MYR3.16 each). Taste like before.

Glutinous rice in Lotus Leaf - MYR14.96 - there are mushrooms, waxed meat and meat in it and the rice this time is softer than what we had before and I prefer it this way. Total Bill is MYR57.75 for two pax. We did not order any drinks.

Free Osmanthus Cake - one piece for each of us - to celebrate its one year anniversary. When we were placing our order for the mango sago pomelo, the waitress informed us that we would be getting free osmanthus cake as dessert and asked us whether or not we would still want to order the mango sago pomelo. This is what I call good service.

  1. Yummy, delicious dim sum. I love the steam spinach dumpling with very thin and see through skin. Osmanthus cakes look good too! So kind of the waitress to inform you of the free dessert.

  3. Yes, I love this kind of up front notification. This is what Michelin star service is all about!

Arhh I really wanna go here... Maybe I'll try to invite my family this time, although I have been trying for quite a few times without success already >.<

    3. Did you ask her why her friends said not nice? Is it because they like big portions and very flavourful lardy food?

  4. The spinach dumplings look really nice, Mun. I just had that for dim sum today at Goodwood Park Hotel in SG. You should try the next time you visit as they serve really good dim sum. xoxo

  5. I've had mango sago pomelo a few times but found that I don't really enjoy them although I love anything sago. It must be the thick consistency that I'm not liking which I find cloying after a few mouthfuls.

  6. This is the HongKong franchise, eh? Sure does not have the typical loud and rude service that yam cha places there are noted for - their trade mark. Anytime better than the freezing cold service I had at that place in my blogpost today - befitting their theme - Frozen!

Never seen Mango Sago Pomelo before, sure would love to give that a try. Your egg tarts look stunning, nothing like what I had - my blogpost yesterday...and I have a soft spot for the glutinous rice at dim sum places. The dumplings all look really good too.
