Set Menu Changed?

After Chloe's mommy left me a comment about the cheapest breakfast in a mall, I went in search of the Old Town White Coffee outlet in Midvalley Megamall and found it located up on the highest floor. Recently the set menu for breakfast (until 11am) has been changed so some of the set options mentioned here are no longer available and the prices mentioned may differ too.

Found the OldTown White Coffee outlet

Breakfast set: a drink and nasi lemak bungkus - MYR 3.90 - after 10% service charge, the price is MYR4.29

Breakfast set: A drink and Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun - MYR10.90 - after 10% service charge, the price is MYR11.99

Breakfast set: A drink, soft boiled eggs and a double serving of kaya butter toasts below costs MYR7.90 - after 10% service charge, the price is MYR8.69

For the double serving of kaya butter toasts, the are 4 pieces in total. Only 2 pieces are shown in the photo above.

There are only two thin strips of butter on the toasts - how strange - I don't think we spread butter on toasts in this way at home.

    1. I also seldom eat there. Only tried there after Chloe's mommy mentioned it.

  3. I like Old Town too, but I find the menu are quite confusing sometimes.. We don't know there's a "cheaper" version, and a "normal" version.. Once, hubby and I (with Kz) went to Old Town for dinner, and the bill cost about RM70++ for 2 plates of nasi lemak, a bowl of kai-see hor fun, 2 toast bread and 3 drinks!

    1. Sometimes the staff are really not helpful. They should promote the set menus which offer cheaper version of the meals.

  4. Haiz...if only all Oldtown are like this.

The one near my old place was not as good. Loads of flies flying here and there.

  5. Like Kathy said the branch nearby our place is bad. The service is rather poor too.

  6. The nasi lemak bungkus set seems so cheap! The next up one costs a lot more already... The kaya toast is supposed to be like that (thought maybe with MORE butter). I tried making it and spread the butter on, it doesn't taste the same. Should be a solid block of cold butter! Ooh the calories.

    1. I have to check in the new set menu for the price of the nasi lemak bungkus - whether it is or not still as cheap. Maybe put a whole piece of solid block of cold butter instead of 2 strips?
