The two photos below are not photos of the same meal with the slice of pork flipped over. They show my lunch eaten on two different days. I always select the same dishes when I visit this economy rice stall every week - two leafy vegetables and a piece of thin pork slice in tomato sauce and they cost me MYR4.8 each. Are you as predictable as I am?

Penang style
This is Penang style Chee Cheong Fun (Rice noodle) because it has shrimp paste (har ko - cantonese) as its sauce and no other ingredients to go with it. I specifically requested for the shrimp paste to be put aside as I only like to dip the noodle into the sauce bit by bit. Shrimp paste is made from fermented ground shrimp. The deep fried onions are also put at the side of the plate as per my request. This small plate costs MYR2 only.

Fish and fish
Normally we only find economy or mixed rice stalls available during lunch time but this shop in OUG has it for dinner. Many people were there with tiffin containers selecting food from the many dishes available as takeaways to eat at home for dinner with their families. I noticed that this shop serves many type of fish dishes so when we were there, each of us took a different type of fish dish and as expected fish dishes are more expensive.
粉葛 or 'fan kot' (Cantonese) or 'fen ge' (Mandarin) or Chinese Kudzu Root (Pueraria lobata) or Japanese Arrowroot with pork soup - MYR2 for a small bowl.
My dinner - a slice of steamed barramundi fish (siakap) - not clearly seen in the photo because it was broken into pieces as I just took a part of a whole slice and then the lady in charged saw it and then scooped the rest of the slice of fish for me so that's why the slice of fish is in many sections; stirfry shrimps with french beans, and fresh mustard greens - 芥菜 ("jie cai" - Mandarin or "gai choy" in Cantonese) - MYR9.5
So for dinner we spent MYR20 and it was just economy rice.
Can you see the fried pieces of fish?
A whole fried pomfret fish, chicken pieces with bitter gourd, lotus root and rice - MYR8.5

Like it or not?
Soft boiled eggs or half boiled eggs are often eaten during breakfasts and my spouse loves to eat them but not me. I prefer hard boiled eggs where the egg white and yolks are cooked thoroughly. How about you?

Breakfast set
Nowadays many restaurants offer breakfast sets and I was surprised to see that Belanga is doing the same too.
This is the breakfast set I ordered: Nasi Lemak with coffee - MYR5.90 and as I don't drink coffee, it is for my spouse.
My spouse ordered the "Nasi Kerabu Ayam Percik" meal MYR18.90 (Ayam percik = grilled chicken in a special herbs and spices sauce with coconut milk, Nasi kerabu = a Malay rice dish with raw veges and spices) . Total price: MYR27.30 inclusive of 10% service charge but no government tax.

Pickled green chillies
Sometimes I eat Chee Cheong Fun without any sauce nor curry at all because it is tasty being eaten just with pickled green chillies. Do you like to eat it this way too?
