Monday 8.nov.21 is also kid 1's day so we went out to pick up food from Lucky Alley and swee Heng coffee shop.
Tue 9.nov.21 12.50 noon - A snack after lunch.Salted Broad Bean is called Kacang Parang Masin. I ordered wasabi macadamia but pandamart delivered this broad bean pack instead. As it is only one pack, I didn't report the switch. 40g per pack so the amount is for one pax. Slightly salted only but a bit crunchy hard.
12.40 noon - his lunch of curry chicken from the previous day bought from After White coffee and old cucumber ribs dry oysters soup bought from Lucky Alley.
4.43 pm - I put the rice he kept for me into the old cucumber soup and eat it like the popular dish in Sg called Pao Fan meaning soaked rice. Love the taste of dried oyster in the soup, very umami!

I like kacang parang. Usually we buy those with skin on from the kacang putih factories in Buntong.
ReplyDeleteI have eaten those with skins before. Need to discard the skins which can be a bit of a bother. Last time when young, used to buy them from the kacang putih man.
DeleteKacang parang is good, usually I bring it for road trip or wanted to buy cashew nut but saw the lower price was kacang parang haha..cucumber soup sounds good.
ReplyDeleteYa, nuts are good for munching on road trips. Hahaha, I didn't notice the price difference. Old cucumber soup with dried oyster is one of our favourite soup.
DeleteI have a few packs of these nute stored. Overall I find Tong Garden to be ok-ok, not super nice.
ReplyDeleteDepends on the nuts. Their cashew nuts and macadamia nuts are quite nice.
