AMAH at The Sphere

Two of us went to the branch of Ali, Muthu and Ah Hock at The Sphere, Kerinchi/Bangsar South after I visited the branch in KL City Center.

My friend ordered the nasi lemak (coconut milk rice) deep fried chicken at MYR 13.10 nett with a cup of hot Cham (Mixed coffee and tea mixed) at MYR 2.90 nett. The deep fried chicken is just as tasty as the one I ate before.

I could not decide on what to order and in the end, I went with the Nasi Himpit Soto at MYR 12.30 nett. I like the soft compressed rice cubes. The broth tastes rich with spices which I cannot recognised but it was not those hot and spicy type. You can choose to have Soto with noodles too.

I found one begedil kentang (ground potatoes patty) hiding underneath the cubes of compressed rice in my bowl. Overall, this soto tastes ok. Next time I would order the lontong dish that has the same price with this soto. I found this explanation for lontong online: "A dish containing pressed rice and vegetable gravy".

Please click on the above menu for a larger image. You can view the menu of the branch in KL city center to compare the prices. So far, almost all the dishes are priced higher at this branch other than the plain nasi lemak.

Our bill is MYR 36.50 nett as we bought chicken curry as takeaway at MYR 8.20 nett.

The counter where some of the food are displayed.

Old style louvre windows

As this is a shop unit located at the corner, it has two entrances. This is the side entrance.

The main entrance.

More seats and tables outside the enclosed shop unit. I guess this is the dining area for smokers.

    1. Is Ying Yong common in SG? Cham is almost the same as ying yong.

    2. I think not so common in SG for people to order ying yong or cham, most people would order white coffee or black coffee
