Pu Tien

Back in May 2012, I have eaten some signature dishes such as Pork Intestines, deep fried pork knuckle, Heng Hwa Bee Hoon, Duck with Yam in Pu Tien when it just opened in One Utama so this time I did not order any of those dishes.

Braised Yellow Croaker with Rice - MYR49.90++ (MYR59.20 nett). Yellow Croaker is a fish with very tender meat which makes it very tasty.

Default appetisers that cost MYR3++ (MYR3.50 nett) each. Pickled jicama that tastes like the jicama slices have been marinated in orange cordial. Some kind of beans that have been braised.

Fish soup with fresh fish slices (definitely not those frozen dory) XS portion - MYR24.90++ (MYR29 nett). XS means extra small portion but still enough for 2 pax. There is no milk in this soup, the soup is white due to the fish.

Total Bill is MYR94.20 nett. The two dishes that we had have a light taste so they suit me a lot.

  1. At first glance I thought they added milk in the fish soup.

  3. I like this place! I've not tried the two dishes here, but probably won't since we like to order many small dishes. Would be full already just having those two.

  6. I have eaten at this place several times but the very long wait often frightened me off. The food there is always very good and deliciously prepared by experienced chefs. You can buy Croaker Fishes at the wet market which is known as Ikan Gelama, if not mistaken.
