Centre Court

The CNY decor at Centre Court, Midvalley Mall was not ready when I was last here so I waited in anticipation to see how it would look like. As with North Court and South Court, huge colourful lanterns dominate the scene.

There is a small stage area at one side. In the photo above, two pair of lions are waiting to start dancing on the poles which are set up in front of the small stage. Can you see the lions or rather their heads?

  2. Lion heads... check. The performance should be a good one - with those poles only 'senior' dancers can do the job.

  5. Yes, I can see the lion heads. They have to be very good to perform on the poles. Colourful decorations.

  6. The lanterns are very nice and unique. Someone told me that lanterns have been round since ancient times and these shapes are auspicious for Feng Shui.

    1. These ones are oblong I would say. Still ok for Feng Shui?

    2. I am not sure but they look nice even oblong shaped. In general Feng Shui, the perfect shapes are round, square and bak kwa. That even applies to shapes of land and houses too. The only house I have seen that is round belongs to the former CEO of Setia Group Tan Sri Liew KS which also sits on Dragon's nest!

    3. If sitting on Dragon's nest, means he is the dragon?

    1. You are most welcome! I guess Mid Valley is not that near to your place when compared to One Utama.

  9. So colourful. No 'rooster' motifs on lanterns?

    1. Good question! :) I did not have time to study each lantern to see whether there are any rooster motifs on any of them.
