Soong Kee PJ

Soy pork ribs noodle, beef ball noodles (MYR8 each) and add on BBQ pork (Char Siew) for MYR3 - taste is acceptable, a bit too much gravy for the soy pork ribs.

A page off its menu - choices for the type of noodles preferred.

Soong Kee from Jalan (road) Silang, SS2 branch. If you can't make it to KL town, then this is a good alternative although the prices here are more expensive than those in Jln Silang.

They are closed from 3pm to 6pm.

Nett prices in Dec 2015.

  1. Name is familiar. Thought they specialise in beef noodles? They do have pork stuff as well, eh?

  3. Did you go back to Jalan Silang to confirm on the price discrepancy? The few Penang old school makan place that went franchise route, I noticed their old shop also naik harga to become "tally" with the new outlets... :|

    1. Before this, they have an outlet in Hutong Lot10 food court with prices more expensive than the original outlet. The thing is at the Jalan Silang HQ, you can choose to have regular or big portion whereas in PJ branch, it is one size.

  4. So, how did the beef noodles compare to the original one? I thought it was pretty similar when I had it (and it sure beats having to go to Jalan Silang). And did you like Ho Weng Kee's wantan mee? The last time I blogged about this place, you enquired about the porridge, so I thought you'd be going for that.

    1. Yes, pretty similar. I was full so I did not taste the wanton mee and also did not order the porridge. Main objective is to see whether or not I can stop going to Jalan Silang for this and go to PJ's outlet instead.

    1. The KL one offers regular and big portion, this one only offers one size. The regular portion in KL is cheaper than this one size portion.
