D Best Briyani Rice

Mutton Briyani Rice - MYR15+ (MYR15.90) - with plain Lassi (Yogurt drink) without salt and without sugar so it was quite sour and I like it that way - MYR6 ++ 6% service charge = MYR6.35 with curry gravy and yogurt chutney (I think).

I thought Fierce Briyani is the best until my friend brought me here to taste this briyani rice. The rice is so very soft and fluffy that I thought I was eating thick broken mee hoon (rice vermicelli). I was so impressed that I brought my eating group to eat here too.

I requested for the mutton curry to be not so spicy. The mutton is soft and tender, just delicious! My friend ordered the prawn briyani and I don't think it is as good as the mutton's because the prawns were a bit too salty and the texture is a bit too firm. Best stick to mutton briyani.

Our bill Tot MYR62.55 - The prawn Briyani costs MYR18+

Swad Restaurant

But no lassi for me. Not so into sour drink. Hehe.

  3. It's not yellow? So far I've only seen yellow ones. I like mango lassi...and ginger tea at Indian eateries but I've yet to acquire the taste for their raita. My girl likes it. No complimentary papadum?

  7. Heh... I think I have been here before. I don't remember the name of the place, but they were famous for mutton briyani and lassi too. So I guess it is the same place. The workers in my dad's shop loved this place much much. Me... ok ok lah...

  8. I'm not really into biryani but I would think that this is a very good one. It's situated in Leboh Ampang that used to be the famous 'Indian' street (but difficult to access now).

    1. Used to? That street is still little India. I think you will like the fluffy rice a lot.

  9. I am a great fan of Briyani and Indian food too. This one is not very colourful but I have no idea of the reason. My friend's family who owns that Lotus chain always taught me how to enjoy really good Indian food.

  13. Nice! It's quite far from me or I'll love to have it.

I'm a huge fan of briyani too, especially mutton briyani. There's a place in Kuching that serves camel briyani - it used to be opposite where I live, Chong Lin Park. RM 15 is fair too, some of the nasi briyani gam places already charge that for chicken.

    1. You can take the lrt and get off at masjid jamek. Very near to walk from there. I think the price is fair too. I don't think I dare to eat camel meat. Are you back from Taiwan?
