Petola

A little rice with 1. curry chicken (a small piece of chicken breast meat) 2. water convolvulus (kang kong), 3. water cress 4. bean curd sticks with petola - MYR7 - I prefer to eat water cress boiled in soup because it is softer cooked that way. When stir fried like this, the water cress is quite tough until it is difficult to masticate. The petola on the other hand is soft, tender and tasty.

  3. I love petola. Nice in soup too. These days, they sell at the market, skin removed. Not that difficult to do that actually - people are getting to be so lazy. :D

    1. I read that the nutrient will go off slowly if the skin is removed so better to peel the skin nearest to the cooking time.

  5. At first, I was wondering WTH is petola? Then I googled...oh, it's "seng gua". I also found so many other names for it....luffa, angled loofah, Chinese okra, ridged gourd, snake gourd, etc. Ok, to make a long story short, I like braised petola with egg shreds.

  8. I like petola too!

I always complain about my chap fun price, I said I'm a regular and always get them to sell it cheaper and they always do. Haha!

I feel bad now when I look at your plate and your price since I get a lot more stuff and meat. But I heard veggies are more expensive now though.
