Good Amount of Fish

I can't seem to get enough of Japanese food so we went for the weekday lunch set at Kura Japanese Restaurant at One World Hotel again.

Saba Shioyaki Lunch set - MYR23 - Mackerel grilled with a little salt. The fish is very fresh and a substantial amount of fish is provided because that is the only main food item. This fish (a choice of Saba, Sanma or Salmon) lunch set comes with fruits (watermelon and papaya this time), rice, miso soup, chawan mushi, pickled veges and an appetizer of the day that happens to be braised daikon, corn, carrot and prawn head.

Salmon Shioyaki Lunch set - MYR23 - Salmon grilled with a little salt. This salmon is very fresh too and quite a big piece is served. This set comes with the same items as the Saba set above.

I really like this grilled fish lunch set because I truly get my money's worth although I often end up feeling very full so I put aside half the rice and the pickled vegetables in a container I brought with me so that I could eat them later for dinner.

Hot green tea is served free of charge. Total Bill: MYR53.36 (inclusive of 10% service charge and 6% gov. tax) for 2 pax.

    1. This prawn head is there for the taste only I think because I don't see any har kou in it.

  3. As for me, I actively avoid fish sets in Japanese restaurants. When they come in a piece like that, I am always worried about residue fish bones. Better not risk it :D

  4. hehe, so you are like ChrisAu the Japanese food fan who can get enough of Japanese food??

the fish set looks good, though I usually will order either pork or beef, but occasionally I'll also go for grilled fish, and in particular the saba shioyaki, which I kind of like.. salmon steak also not a bad choice for me, as I love fish with chunks of meat, hehe!!

  12. I am very surprised to see the reasonable price for the portion. Definitely cheap for a 5* Star hotel like that. I can see their hotel's logo on the roof from my house everyday but I have never stepped inside yet.
