A beef pie with flaky (puff) pastry - MYR6.90 nett

After I have eaten the top layer of pastry, the potatoes, beef and onions fillings can be seen. It was not reheated thoroughly so some parts of the fillings were cold but I was fine with it. The beef was a bit tough to chew.

We were at the Perodua service center and felt hungry so I bought this pie from this Gloria Jean's coffee kiosk located inside the service center.

Blueberry Brioche

I saw this blueberry brioche and couldn't help myself so I bought one at about MYR3.50 nett. An online search reveals that brioche is a pastry of French origin.

Cross section. It tastes like bread because brioche is similar to enriched bread so this is an expensive bread.

Plain white rice - MYR2, fried fish - MYR4.80, Omelette - MYR2, Cabbage (1 serving) - MYR1. The total cost for the above rice is MYR9.80 nett.

Rojak - MYR5.50 nett and Teh O (cold) - MYR2.20 nett.

The total bill - MYR17.50 nett

My Selection

Finally we went to eat at the renovated Sushi Zanmai branch at the Gardens Mall. The above sushi items are my favourite sushi.

We also ordered a bowl/cup of chawanmushi at MYR5.80 nett.

The most expensive item in our selection is Sushi Unatama at MYR7.80 for a set of two sushi unagi with tamago. Next is the Aburi Salmon Sushi at MYR6.80 for a set of two partially grilled salmon sushi. After that is salmon peach sushi and toro (fatty belly meat) salmon at MYR5.80 nett for a set of two sushi.

Which one should I eat the last so that its taste will remind in my mouth for the longest time?

Pork ball noodle - MYR6.50 nett. The mee hoon is very soft so I like it very much. Since we do not go to Imbi anymore to eat this pork ball noodle, we have found the replacement here.

Chicken strips Hor Fun - MYR6 nett. The strips of chicken meat is quite tough. I will not order this next time.

A plate of BBQ pork (char siew) and chicken meat to share - MYR6. The BBQ pork meat is tender and tasty but the chicken meat is tough so we will only order the char siew next time.

There are many other stalls here for us to try.

After so long

It has been such a long time since we last ate here at Hailam Kopitiam, Jalil Link (November 2015) so we visited it again and ate exactly the same food as our previous visit which are nasi lemak chicken rendang because they do not have beef rendang on their menu  (coconut milk rice with chicken rendang), mee siam and cold coffee. The taste is the same as before, nice!

Nasi Lemak Rendang Chicken MYR 11.90++ (10% service charge and 6% GST) so is MYR 13.90 nett. Cham (cold) is MYR 4.50++ so is MYR 5.20 nett.

Mee Siam - soft but still sweeter than savoury. Having said that I will still order mee siam next time because of every item on the menu, this one interests me the most. The eatery still looks the same as in 2014.
