1.39 pm - received both mild spicy chicken pot and mutton pot. Both dishes are in small portion.1.36 pm - Sticker with S means a small portion. Soy sauce and fu Yu sauce are provided even though both dishes are already very flavourful. They give us 4 free meatballs to try. The meatballs are heavily marinated in soy sauce.
I didn't eat the mild spicy chicken at all because I need to take care of the mutton dish as he doesn't want to eat mutton. He ate the mild spicy chicken and use that as the elderlies' Saturday dinner so mild spicy chicken is cleared whereas there is still a lot of mutton in the fridge because I can't eat that fast that much mutton on my own.
1.37 pm - SanGong Charcoal Hotpot is a new eatery at Ara Damansara. They sell raw ingredients and soup for hotpot. They recommend that customers eat 70% of the mutton dish and then add soup to the mutton gravy to make hotpot. Then add other raw ingredients to the hotpot like a steamboat meal.
They even sell hotpot set for delivery. The url to order delivery from them is:
1.41 pm - I ate a small bowl of the mutton dish. It has bamboo shoots, bean curd sheets, mushrooms, water chestnuts and coriander in it too. Very flavourful. The gravy tastes mainly of fu Yu aka fermented bean curd.
I can't stand gamey mutton taste too. Hot day these 2 days. Nice backlane. U staying there?
ReplyDeleteI think the mutton gravy is strong enough to make the mutton taste more acceptable to those who doesn't like mutton taste. Thanks. No, not staying there.
DeleteLong time never had mutton, but dried wonton mee used to have, coz there were phase loved noodles most.
ReplyDeleteMutton rendang is tasty. Noodles are tasty too.
DeleteJust had roasted lamb the other day with gravy. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, must be very tasty. Will you be writing about it?
DeleteWait sounds complicated... so eat 70% as mutton with gravy? Then add soup (provided I assume) to make it hotpot?
ReplyDeleteYes, you got it absolutely right! It is in Ara Damansara so maybe you can go there to eat one day.
