Wild Honey Again

After my initial visit to Wild Honey, I went there again with my family. This time I ordered the popular dishes to share.

Barbary at MYR36++ (10% service charge and 6% GST making it MYR42 nett).
Description from the online menu: "Duck hash with duck confit leg, pink grapefruit Hollandaise & crispy shallots".
Online, there are mix local reviews on this dish. Some call it rich and tasty, some call it bland so which is it? I decided to find out for myself. My verdict - The magic is in the sauce - it is rich and creamy but you can just tell that there is pink grapefruit in there, just a subtle hint but effective. I can understand that for a local community who is fond of eating spicy food like sambal, assam laksa, tomyum soup with a "kick", how food like this could be deemed bland.

The meat from the duck leg confit is mixed with hash (potatoes) and reshaped into a "duck leg".

Greek at MYR40++ (MYR46.65 nett). Description from the online menu: "Open faced omelette baked with fragrant lamb moussaka, bechamel, Keflograviera cheese, shaved red onion, fried Japanese eggplant & parsley with grilled flat bread." Very flavourful dish and I like the taste of lamb here.

Belgian at MYR24++ (MYR28 nett). Description from the online menu: "Light & fluffy waffles bound with coconut cream, grilled mango, blueberries, toasted coconut flakes with Canadian maple syrup." A nice dessert.

View from another angle.

Brazilian Bread at MYR12++ (MYR14 nett). Description from the online menu: "Warm, ooey, gooey cheesey bites". A tasty snack for those who like to eat cheese. Those white bits on top of the bread are salt.

Hot "Follow Me Tea" (Teas by TWG) at MYR13++ (MYR15.15 nett) in a 600 ml pot (3 cups) with no refills.

"Wild Iced Tea" at MYR14++ (MYR16.30 nett). Description from the online menu: "Our own special blend of unsweetened peppermint, lemon verbena, rosehip & hibiscus." I did not put in the syrup that is provided separately so it tastes like unsweetened ribena to me. From online searches: Lemon Verbena is a sweet smelling perennial plant and rosehip is the accessory fruit of the rose plant.

Removed the nice shiny pot cover to reveal a dark tea pot.

This time we sat near these two relaxing pieces of art with various shades of blue.

Total bill is MYR162.07 for 3 pax. Truth be told, we were not able to finish all the food so we had to bring the Brazilian Bread home for snacks.
