Cute Cute Angku

After reading this online article about hand crafted angku kuih, I went to buy some to try as I like to eat angku very much.

Each item costs either MYR1 nett or MYR1.10 nett so the whole lot above costs MYR25.50 nett only. All the colours used above are natural colours from "bunga telang" (blue), pumpkin (yellow), beetroot (red), yam (purple), and green (pandan leaves).

The angku skin made from glutinous rice is very soft and the mung bean fillings taste both sweet and savoury (a bit more to savoury). My friend likes the pandan angku with grated coconut fillings the best.

At about 9.30 am, a new batch of freshly steamed angku appeared.

Pulut Inti - the blue colour is from "bunga telang" - the flower of the blue-pea plant (Clitoria ternatea).

Kuih Koci with a very nice fragrant from the banana leaf used to wrap it.

Filled with grated coconut - delicious!

The banana leaf on the left is steamed together with the kuih koci and transferred the fragrant of the banana leaf to the kuih koci. The one on the right is used to wrap the pulut init without being steamed together.

This is the shop which is located below some flats near the Yulek Market (Taman Cheras market). There is a signboard with the name "QQ Nyonya kuih".

  3. Wow! The angkus are so cute and attractive. I am sure they are the first and only stall selling this. If I pray and offer these angkus to my deities on the altar, they would be happy and bless me abundance! LOLOL

I just noticed that something is wrong with your blog postings that does not update itself in our blog's side bar. It still shows dated one week ago in other blogs.

    2. Yes, definitely! I won't bother to travel there for it, but if you put me in that shop I'd definitely come out with hands full.
