Blood

Pork blood added to a bowl of Kway Teow Th'ng - MYR7 at O&S Coffee Shop, Paramount Garden, PJ. I tried pork blood once but did not like it because I get a bad aftertaste in my mouth after eating it so this bowl of noodle is not mine.

  1. Ooooo...I like!!! My father used to tell us when we were young that barbers would eat once a month as it cleanses the system - would wash out all those little bits of hair that they take in via the mouth, when talking, or breathing. I never eat it anymore though - my missus would not touch it...so I may get to enjoy it once in a very very long while when eating out on my own.

  2. Yip blood! we also eat blood here in the Philippines as part of the street market.

Instead of putting it in the noodles, why not grill it? we grill it here in the Philippines.

    1. If you are referring to the waste matters being carried in the blood then yes I guess it is not healthy to eat them. So far, I have not seen chicken blood being sold around here.

    1. Very true, the amount of waste in the blood would depend on the food that the animals ate. Animals eating only grass have less waste in their blood.

  8. Last time Yong Dao Fu in SG used to have pork blood and I had tasted it before, no taste one, as bland as water, but nowadays seldom see pork blood in SG already

    1. Ours here got taste, not bland. Next time you go to JB, maybe can find this to eat again. Just eat it without any chili and don't eat anything else after that. You will get the aftertaste lingering in your mouth and that's the taste.

  9. O&S Coffee Shop? I go there too. That's the one with the Seafood Noodles right? Beside B&Best? Or am I mixing it up with another place?

I know I've been here before though, never had this though. I love pig's blood. :)

    1. O&S is very near Giant at Paramount Garden whereas the Seafood Noodles is near Digital Mall.

    1. Nowadays, the hawkers are also smart, as in they will not automatically put the blood cubes into kway teow th'ng. They will only put when you request for it at an added price.
