Sticky Lunch

I ran out of bread one day so I bought this prepacked meal from a portable stall with a smiley lady who always wish me good morning when I walk past her every working day on my way to the office from the LRT station. It was only MYR2 so I guess she makes very little profit from it.

Glutinous rice  (Lo Mai Fan) with a little dried shrimps (har mai) and a tiny packet of peanuts. I ate this for lunch just before noon because I had to attend training from 12noon to 4pm so I did not have time for a proper lunch. It was good enough to stick my stomach walls together until dinner time.

  1. Tsk, I cannot have that for lunch one, sticky rice during lunch time makes my tummy uncomfortable after 1-2 hours, I have no idea why, but it just is..

  2. Mun, I like sticky rice but after eating I will be very sleepy. And if I have to attend training after eating sticky rice, I will be struggling to stay awake...lol..

  4. I like that the looks of that glutinous rice is really soft. For me, whenever I eat glutinous rice, I tend to get hungry faster (before the next meal arrives) and I don't know why.

  9. Very nice and cheap Mun! :)

I can't see the chicken though, is it reasonable in size? Come to think of it there's not much difference between bak zhang and lor mai kai, we were eating the latter last weekend when I suddenly thought about it...

    1. There is no chicken because this is lo mai fan not lo mai kai! :D Bak zhang has more ingredients in it than lo mai kai, I would say.
