Prawns prawns

On Thursday 18.sep.2025, went to Laow Di Fang near Kokan for brunch because it opens early at 8 am. We didn't go to Kokan because we don't want to sit with strangers.

*** Laow Di Fang jln Perisa 1 ***

8.24 am - he ordered prawns noodles and hot coffee

8.28 am - also ordered toasts, kaya, butter and soft boiled eggs. We shared all the food except for the eggs.

Total MYR 24.40

*** He cooked early dinner ***

1.57 pm - he cooked ten frozen prawns with eggs, cherry tomatoes, onions and buna shimeji mushrooms. We ate 5 prawns each. The prawns have bouncy texture and their taste is a bit salty due to I believe salt is being used on them before they were frozen.

2.12 pm - he also cooked frozen minced pork with cherry tomatoes and big red onions with balsamic vinegar so it tastes very good, as if tomato sauce or ketchup has been used to stir fry this dish.

We kept the remaining portions of both dishes above in the fridge for the next day. I also finished off the 2nd tube of cheddar Pringles in one sitting and won't buy again because 158g is just too much to eat them all in one sitting and I don't want to keep any remaining portions of Pringles because I won't know when I will eat them again so most likely they will go soft and turn not nice to be eaten and then have to be discarded.

Morning 45.60
Next morning 45.85
Retained 250g water because ate bread for early dinner

Century Egg Liver Fish Congee

On Saturday 26.jul.2025, went to Midvalley mall for an appointment at 11 210 so we ate our meals there too.

10.29 am - prawns wantons no noodles soup, hot coffee and soft boiled eggs for him, cold coffee for her. Total for 4 items: MYR 44.45 nett.

*** Canton-i Gardens mall ***

12.28 noon - I ordered congee for him and he selected livers fish fillets congee MYR 16.90++ with a small saucer of deep fried crunchy you tiao. He also added one century egg MYR 4.90++
This Cantonese style congee is very very smooth without any grain of rice in sight.

12.30 am - I ordered shrimps 🍤 rice rolls aka hk ccf MYR 12.90++
The amount is quite little but they did give a whole stalk of siew bok choy.

12.33 am - I must order this dish when I dine here: salted egg yolk prawns 🍤 MYR 38.90++
This time we didn't count the number of prawns. Without rice, this dish is quite salty.

12.59 noon - we didn't order any drinks because we planned to have drinks elsewhere and the congee is in liquid form so we are confident that we won't choke on the food without drinks.
Total for 3 items: MYR 85.40 nett. This time when the cashier asked me: were the wet towels used? I replied no as we didn't use them so we were not charged for MYR 1++ x 2

They gave me a glass of plain drinking water by default and a small tub of butter for the croissant 🥐 but I didn't accept them because I couldn't drink two glasses of drinks and the croissant 🥐 I guess would be buttery enough without needing to put butter 🧈 on it.

Sun Sea OUG

On Wednesday 14.sep.2022, stayed at home whole day and ordered one Foodpanda delivery for both lunch and dinner.

*** Kai Dan Go ***

He wanted to buy the traditional Kai Dan Go aka egg sponge cake from Sun Sea coffee shop in OUG so we went there on Fri 9.sep.2022 and I bought all 4 products from the stall.

One egg sponge cake MYR 2.40 in the round container.
3 pork pastries MYR 2.50 each.
2 Lou por pastries MYR 2.40 each.
1 kaya swiss roll MYR 8.50 per roll.

The kaya swiss roll has a fine cake texture and fragrant kaya but the kaya tastes different from the kaya swiss roll in KL center. Both kaya rolls taste good to me. He says the kaya roll tastes nicer than his Kai Dan Go though the egg sponge cake's taste is acceptable too.

Only 4 products.

The pastries are baked onsite. You can see the two trays of Kai Dan Go inside the glass display unit.

Total price for 7 items is MYR 23.20 and they accept e-payment paid to OUG Traditional Confectionery.

Cross section of the pork pastry. The meat fillings taste the fillings in those yam puffs aka Wu kok dim sum.

I seldom buy lo por pastry but since I am buying all 4 products, I bought a prepacked bag of two pieces.

Cross section. Flaky layers of pastry skin with sweet gooey fillings in between the layers. No distinct outstanding taste.

Since already at this Sun Sea coffee shop, just have to buy a pack of the popular seafood pork noodles which is supposed to be operated by the same party as Hong Cha seafood pork noodles OUG. I added prawns to it so the price is MYR 21 for a default of 10 prawns. Taste good. My weak teeth need to put in more work for the intestines and squid.

The interior of Sun Sea coffee shop. View from the pastry stall looking at the seafood pork noodles stall.

*** Wednesday 14.sep.2022 ***

His lunch and dinner from Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice.

Total price inclusive of delivery fees is MYR 17.40 which I find is a reasonable price.
