Prawns prawns

On Thursday 18.sep.2025, went to Laow Di Fang near Kokan for brunch because it opens early at 8 am. We didn't go to Kokan because we don't want to sit with strangers.

8.24 am - he ordered prawns noodles and hot coffee 

8.28 am - also ordered toasts, kaya, butter and soft boiled eggs. We shared all the food except for the eggs.

*** He cooked early dinner ***

1.57 pm - he cooked ten frozen prawns with eggs, cherry tomatoes, onions and buna shimeji mushrooms. We ate 5 prawns each. The prawns have bouncy texture and their taste is a bit salty due to I believe salt is being used on them before they were frozen.

2.12 pm - he also cooked frozen minced pork with cherry tomatoes and big red onions with balsamic vinegar so it tastes very good, as if tomato sauce or ketchup has been used to stir fry this dish.

We kept the remaining portions of both dishes above in the fridge for the next day. I also finished off the 2nd tube of cheddar Pringles in one sitting and won't buy again because 158g is just too much to eat them all in one sitting and I don't want to keep any remaining portions of Pringles because I won't know when I will eat them again so most likely they will go soft and turn not nice to be eaten and then have to be discarded.

On Wednesday 17.sep.2025, went to Thong Kee Sri Petaling and Nam Heong Pinnacle condo Sri Petaling for brunch.

It was drizzling in the morning so there was a valid parking spot nearby along the road in front of Thong Kee.

8.56 am - we shared this prawn chicken hor fun soup.

9 am - he also ordered pork and livers soup no noodles, MYR 3.60+ for 2 half boiled eggs and 1 glass of hot cham MYR 3.30+

After that, we crossed the road to pinnacle condo.

9.29 am - I ordered the MYR 5.90+ breakfast set of iced long black, two soft boiled eggs and Kaya butter toasts. He ate the two eggs for me so he ate 4 eggs 🥚 in one day. Then I also ordered one egg tart MYR 3.50+ for myself. Total MYR 10.35 nett while waiting for the pinnacle condo supermarket to open at 10 am.

1.52 pm - he bought a bunch of 4 bananas MYR 3.97 nett for his smoothie and buna shimeji mushrooms MYR 2.90 nett

I bought 2 packs of mandarin oranges at an offer price of MYR 12.39 nett for both packs.

Ah, many people also ask this question so it is same same but Different. The answer didn't really give an explanation as there is another section in the menu for chop suey.

History wise, no idea what happened to have this difference in the words being used but items not used. 😂

2.56 pm - I finished off the roast duck leg from the previous day and edamame 🫛 mustard from a few days ago. I ate wholemeal bread with the duck, very tasty as the duck is marinated well with 5 spice powder and plum sauce. The duck meat is firm, dense and chewable by my weak teeth.

On Tuesday 16.sep.2025, he bought one pomelo at MYR 14.90 nett and one pomelo at MYR 16.90 nett.

On Tuesday 16.sep.2025, went to Midvalley Mall to eat MYR 6.80++ fried chicken whole leg nasi lemak on the last day of this promotion.

12.10 noon - this piece of cool vinegar pearls on top of drunken chicken meat in gravy jelly is very tasty and appetising. 😋

11.57 am - a cold dish of 6 pieces of drunken chicken gravy jelly MYR 48++

A pot of hot chrysanthemum tea 🍵 MYR 7++

Roast meat platter of roast pork, BBQ pork and roast duck whole leg MYR 98++

In the middle are some slices of tofu

11.56 am - I would definitely order this cold plate of drunken chicken gravy jelly again.

12.14 noon - cinnamon whisky braised pork belly MYR 68++

I ate 4 pieces without the fatty layers and he ate one piece.

12.14 noon - at the bottom of this stack of pork belly, inside the pandan leaves basket is a piece of pineapple 🍍 

I don't eat the fatty layers of the pork belly so not going to order this dish again.

On Sunday 14.sep.2025, went to a new eatery at South Link Bangsar South for lunch. They have MYR 9.90 meal set offer on weekends. Normal price is MYR 22.80 so it is a very good offer.

We parked the car at Nexus basement parking. MYR 2 nett per entry for the whole Sunday. Then we walked to South Link which is a short distance.

On Saturday 13.sep.2025, he chose to go to Midvalley mall to eat MYR 6.80++ fried chicken whole leg nasi lemak before the promotion ends on 16.sep.2025 so we went there and ate both brunch and early dinner.

10.15 am - Hai Kah Lang took over the space of Define Food restaurant to open a branch in Midvalley KL. It is located in the office building in between Midvalley Mall and the gardens mall.

9.40 am - we sat facing the open window with a view of the frangipani tree outside. Birds can fly straight in.

10.15 am - the very same window viewed from outside with an attap overhang. An attap roof is a thatched roof usually made from woven palm leaves.

11.04 am - Brekkie set is now available during weekends so I ordered smoked salmon +MYR 15 to the existing MYR 9.90 scrambled eggs sourdough toasts and coffee brekkie set. Total MYR 25.80 nett. This is my lunch.

12.50 noon - his early dinner: kurobuta rosu set MYR 49.90++ 

No refills allowed because I didn't order a set since I was full.

12.49 noon - I ordered a plate of edamame 🫛 MYR 7.50++ which I took most of them home.

1.07 pm - the tonkatsu pork is battered and deep fried but not marinated so these sauces, condiments and sesame seeds are provided for those customers who require a strong tasting meat.
