Twice a day

I visited Wild Honey, Pavilion again and noticed that the Barbary (duck leg confit) dish and Greek (Open faced omelette baked with fragrant lamb moussaka) dish have been removed from their menu and there were new items in the menu.

For breakfast, two of my friends and I ordered two dishes to share. Each of my friend chose 1 dish. 

This dish is called "European" - cherry tomatoes, two poached eggs with Hollandaise sauce, mushrooms, turkey ham on brioche at MYR 25++ (10% service charge and 6% GST = MYR 29.15 nett).

Chicken Sandwich - MYR 34++ (MYR39.65 nett). 

Grilled chicken breast, lemon mayo, rocket, tomato on grilled ciabatta.

All these food for 3 pax.

I did not order any drinks. The cup of flat white coffee and a pot of hot tea are for my friends. We did not share the drinks. Total bill for 3 is MYR 99.10 nett.

I ended up at the same place for lunch on the same day with two two friends. This time each of us chose a dish to share. It so happened that the same dish (European) was selected by one of my friend.

Somehow I feel that this dish looks better this time when compared to the one I had during breakfast. From the photos, don't you think so too?

This is my choice - Roasted Pumpkin and Sweet Potato salad - MYR 26++ (MYR 30.30 nett).

Baby spinach, chickpeas, toasted pine nuts, tomatoes and honey mustard dressing. So tasty!

Belgian at MYR 24++ (MYR 28 nett). One of my friend decided to have a sweet dessert lunch.

Waffles with coconut cream, grilled mango, blueberries, toasted coconut flakes with Canadian maple syrup.

MYR 115.43 nett for 3 pax. We shared the food but not the drinks. As with breakfast, I did not order any drinks but my two friends did buy a drink each.

Lamb Chop

After NuxV mentioned that Dave's Deli has started business in Midvalley Mall, I went looking for it and found it on the same row as The Library and Kim Gary eateries.

The 30% off for all main meals promotion is available. This discount is not applicable for drinks.

But only on Mon to Fri excluding public holidays for dining in from 12 noon to 3 pm only. Hhhmmm, but then I worked quite a distance away. After the enjoyable meal previously, I hope to eat here on this promotion.

One day, my co-workers went to Midvalley Mall because they wanted to have lunch at Kim Gary but there was a long queue so we went to Dave Deli's which was nearby which also had a queue at the cashier counter where we had to place our orders and pay for our food before they were delivered to our table.

My order - Lamb Chop - MYR17.45 nett after 30% off the original price of MYR24.90 nett. The lamb chop is not exactly the fall-off-bone type but good enough. There were 3 pieces and I took 2 home for dinner since the sides of vegetable, mash potatoes and coleslaw alone were enough to keep me full for a while.

 Quarter Roasted Chicken at MYR14.60 nett after 30% off the original price of MYR20.80 nett. This is such a good deal when compared to some other eateries that serve Roasted Chicken too. There is a choice of a whole chicken leg or the breast portion.

Two of my co-workers ordered Chicken Chop at MYR14.60 nett after 30% off the original price of MYR20.80 nett and both of them could not finish this dish because it was too much for them. Same price as the quarter roasted chicken dish above. Which one do you prefer - Chicken Chop or Roasted Chicken?

 Foot long sausage at MYR13.25 nett after 30% off the original price of MYR18.90 nett. I ate this dish a long time ago when I was below 12 years old and found it to be quite tasty.

After reading NuxV's post (2016) about Dave's Deli having a weekday promotion of 30% off on all main meals for dined in customers, I wanted to go for this promotion but never did have a chance until recently when I had to go to One Utama for work so I went for this promotion.

Beef Lasagna - MYR20.28+ with 30% discount off for weekday lunch making it MYR14.20+ (MYR15.05 nett). This lasagna is more than a thousand times better than this nightmare. I like the broccoli, carrots and green peppers side dish that they included.

My co worker ordered the signature chicken chop - MYR19.62+ with 30% discount off for weekday lunch making it MYR13.72+ (MYR14.55 nett).

I need the total bill to be above MYR30 to pay by card so I ordered a drink. I chose Ribena Longan because Ribena is my childhood favourite drink. No discounts for drinks so my drink costs MY6.04+ (MYR6.40 nett) making the total bill to be MYR36 nett. My lunch costs a total of MYR21.45 nett but it was worth the binge and stretching my stomach for because it was very tasty!

Monthly Visit

We are making this a monthly affair. Pork belly breakfast - MYR23.80+ (MYR25.23 nett) - for lunch.

My order of roasted vegetable and pan grilled salmon - MYR26.80+ (MYR28.41 nett). I prefer my vegetables to be raw as the taste of roasted oil on the vegetable is kind of off putting for me.

A flat white - MYR8.50+ (MYR9 nett) and a Pineapple Energy drink - MYR10.90+ (MYR11.55 nett) which is red because of having beetroot in it.

Total bill is MYR74.20 nett at BreadFruits. We will be back next month to try other items on the menu.

Once in a while, we go for a Western style breakfast.

SatisFry Up at MYR27.80+ 6% GST so it is MYR29.45 nett which I say is value for money since a cup of coffee and a small glass of fruit juice are included as well and there are two slices of pork bacon, a piece of hash brown, butter, a slice of bread, two sunny side up eggs, baby tomatoes, salad rocket (arugula) and mushrooms. Salt and pepper are provided separately for you to add them to the dish to suit your preference so this dish is not salty at all.

Another look at the above dish from another angle. This is as good as the big breakfast we ate in Auckland,  NZ and at a better price too.

The other dish we ordered for our breakfast is the asparagus, smoked salmon and dill scrambled egg at MYR24.80+ 6% GST which is MYR26.30 nett. As expected, the smoked salmon and capers is a bit on the salty side.

Salt and  pepper on the side and the drinks - coffee and fresh fruit juice without added sugar - that is  included with the SatisFry Up meal.

Auckland posts: The only work day lunch in a nice cafe http://www.cafeeleven.co.nz/. This was what I ordered. I think this is Beef Stroganoff served with pasta from their daily special menu.

My colleagues ordered the following two dishes: Oatmeal Pancakes with grilled bacon, cinnamon, maple syrup and banana - NZD12.50 (about MYR34.15 now). A sweet and savoury dish. They served the banana with its skin intact and I believe some people eat the banana skins/peels too and according to a google search, banana peels/skins can be eaten.

The Grill - local pork sausages, crispy bacon, home made hash, whole baked Portobello Mushroom, grilled tomato and eggs any style (the style chosen here: poached eggs) with Sourdough bread - NZD 18.50 (about MYR50.50 now).

For both visits, I ordered the Beer Battered Fish and Chips that comes with salad and tartare sauce - NZD 19 (about MYR51.85 now).

I ordered this again on our 2nd visit because of all the items on the menu, I like this best.

Earl Grey Tea - NZD4 (about MYR11 now) and a Flat White Coffee (small) - NZD4.10.

Calamari Salad - Panko crumbed calamari dusted with lemon pepper. Served with coleslaw, roasted capsicum, cucumber, crispy shallots and a thai basil dressing. NZD19. Taste like Thai food.

BBQ Pulled Pork Burger - NZD19.50 (about MYR53.25 now). With succulent pork and a honey mustard slaw with chips. Quite delicious.

The Pulled Pork Burger is a new item.

The Coffee Club

Modern looking cafe
