WG Kheong Kee Bah Kut Teh

We ordered the above 3 dishes to be shared between the 3 of us during lunch. We asked for lean meat only as my friends do not eat innards. The bah kut teh broth is light and sweet from the herbs, no dong guai taste at all.

Total is MYR 58.10 nett for 3 pax. We should have requested for small portions of rice.

We ordered item A1 for 2 pax for the claypot version.

and added one portion of enoki mushroom and one portion of button mushroom.

My friends stopped by the nearby Soon Kee Herbal House to buy longan tofu jelly and I bought this herbal jelly at MYR 8 nett.

WG Luckin Kopi

 Weekday lunch set at MYR 14.80 nett with free unlimited refill Luckin Kopi Kaw. I chose Indo Mee Goreng and Ayam Berempah (Deep fried Chicken marinated with spices). This is a satisfying "carby" lunch.

My friend ordered from the ala carte menu. Herbal Chicken Soup at MYR 12.90+ (10% service charge = MYR 14.19 nett) and a plate of plain white rice at MYR 2+ (MYR 2.20 nett).

Total bill for 2 pax: MYR 31.20 nett.

Weekday lunch set (12 noon to 3 pm) at MYR 14.80 nett with unlimited refill for luckin Kopi Kaw (thick rich coffee) and a choice of indo mee, mee siam and nasi lemak for the main dish and a selection of 9 side dishes: Chicken Karaage, Ayam Berempah (deep fried chicken marinated in spices), Curry Chicken, Buttermilk Prawn, Buttermilk chicken, Rendang Chicken, Sambal Prawn, Sambal Petai and Sambal Sotong. Good value for money lunch set I would say.

For early birds (7 am to 10 am), they have a mix and match breakfast menu.

On the top floor, the back section of this eatery is occupied by Daun & Petals.

I like the clean lines of the beams.

They even have a ticketing system to handle the queue (if any).

D Empire Set Lunch

I wanted to eat at this restaurant ever since I read the article written by Submerryn back in 2016 but somehow I never did find a time to do so until recently.

Marinara Aglio Pasta at MYR 38.90+ (6% SST = MYR 41.25 nett) from the ala carte menu. As per our request for no salt, this dish is not salty at all but is still very flavourful due to the fresh seafood so we are pleased with their good service of fulfilling our special requirement.

The lunch set consists of one main course, a bowl of soup and one drink and is available during weekends too.

Beef sausage set at MYR 26.90+ (MYR 28.50 nett) with broccoli soup and hot tea.

I ordered braised lamb shank set - MYR 55.90+ (MYR 59.25 nett) for sharing. The lamb is tender and I like the strong lamb taste so for celebration, I will have this dish again.

Ribeye steak (grass fed) set at MYR 98.90+ (MYR 104.85 nett). I took a small bite of the steak (medium well as per our request) and it was delicious.

We also ordered tenderloin steak from the ala carte menu at MYR 148.90+ (MYR 157.85 nett) for sharing.

We requested for medium well because we want it to be well cooked. The meat was tender and tasted yummy!

Lunch for 5 pax costs MYR 391.65 nett, about MYR 78 per pax. We shared all the main courses.

WG Er Lou Cafe

 Thin noodles smoked duck (small) - MYR 13.90 nett and Er Lou Laksa Mee Hoon (small) - MYR 13.90 nett. This Er Lou Laksa is supposed to be Sarawak Laksa and they served the broth and the laksa paste separately.

My order: Er Lou Laksa Thin Noodles mixed with mee hoon (small) - MYR 13.90 nett. Top up MYR 1.50 nett to add any drink from the beverage menu so I chose Cucumber Lime Juice - normal price is MYR 7.90 nett.

I poured all the broth into the bowl but did not use any of the paste and I finished all the whole bowl but not the broth as I feel that it is on the salty side so not that good to drink all the broth. I like this Sarawak laksa, flavourful and tasty.

Cucumber Lime Juice (cold) at a add-on price of MYR 1.50 nett when a main dish is ordered. The normal price is MYR 7.90 nett so it is a good lunch promotion. I asked for no sugar (to omit the sugar) but it is still a bit on the sweet side since there is a preserved plum (suin mui) inside this very refreshing drink.

Total price for 3 pax is MYR 50.80 nett since both my friends top up MYR 1.50 nett each for drinks too.

Er Lou just opened recently and is located above Omulab on the same row as Kanna Curry House, Section 17, PJ.

I tried my friend's smoked duck thin noodles and found that the gravy has the fragrance of lard so for those who like the taste of lard, this is a delicious bowl of noodles.

I don't dare to try the cheese noodles because I do not know what the base broth is like before adding cheese to it.

I only notice the malicai fried noodles when I am writing this post. I would have ordered fried noodles malicai or fried mee hoon malicai if I have noticed it that day. If my friends eat here again, I would order the malicai noodles.

Chai Kueh sounds tasty too.

Cucumber Lime Juice is the highest priced drink here.

These desserts seem like western style desserts but I would be too full after eating the noodles to eat any desserts here.

Ranchero Chicken Tacos

After reading PH's article about chicken tacos at Chili's, my friend and I went to try it at the Midvalley Mall branch instead of the One Utama branch. I found it difficult to remove the tacos from the metal holder. After looking closely at PH's photo and also the photo I took of the menu, I realise that the kitchen staff did not put a piece of paper onto the holder before putting in the taco so I have no paper to hold on to, in order to eat the tacos and the skin of taco wrapper sticks to the metal holder so I have difficulty removing the tacos from the metal holder. I guess the One Utama branch gives better service because they remember to put in the paper before putting in the taco.

We also ordered a snack of boneless chicken pieces with Honey BBQ marinate at MYR 20.95++ (MYR 24.30 nett). I like the taste of the 4 raw celery sticks that are served with the chicken. They are very crunchy too.

Instead of the crispy chicken tacos, I chose to have Ranchero Chicken Tacos (2 tacos) instead at MYR 26.95++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 31.26 nett) and I like the sourish sauce and there is a lot of grilled chicken breast in the tacos. I took one taco and all the rice home for dinner and the two of us finished the whole bowl of beans.

 My friend does not drink smoothies so I could not order smoothies because we are sharing one drink.

These are the drinks listed under mocktails (non alcoholic drinks).

We chose Electric Blue Blast at MYR 9.95++ (MYR 11.54 nett) to share. It was ok, tastes sweet like soft drink because the base drink is sprite and it uses Monin brand flavoured syrup.

Since we are sharing just one drink, we could not order from the "Refresh & Refill" section because the T&C wrote that "All refillable drinks are per person only".

Total bill for two pax is MYR 67.10 nett.

I did not know that the restaurant is very big. We sat at the inner section.
