Dry Beef Hor Fun

On Wednesday 23.aug.2023, went to Laow Di Fang eatery happy garden to try their dry beef hor fun.

*** Laow Di Fang ***

11.05 am - dry beef hor fun MYR 22 nett. The chives, onions, crunchy beansprouts, beef slices are very tasty. The hor fun noodles is quite firm and QQ springy so my weak teeth finds it difficult to chew the noodles.

11.05 am - his nasi lemak chicken rendang MYR 12.90 nett which is good value for money.

11.03 am - my hot barley Kosong MYR 3.50 nett.

11.28 am - we shared all the food and as both of us are on low carb, we took home half of the hor fun and a quarter portion of rice to be eaten on another day.

Total price is MYR 38.40 nett.

*** Kokan coffee shop ***

12.03 noon - he walked to the corner coffee shop and ordered a hot cham drink MYR 2.60 nett. Then he ordered siew yuk, char siew and roast duck MYR 15 nett for his dinner.

Ais Kacang Donut

On Tuesday 22.aug.2023, went to Golden Chopsticks coffee shop to buy chapfan lunch for the Elderlies and we ate brunch there too.

4.23 pm - ate 3 donuts:

Ondeh ondeh: coconut taste

Ais Kacang: peanut taste

Apam Balik: sweet corn taste

I like the apam Balik donut the most.

MYR 5.50 nett for two donuts with one hp app voucher. I bought two vouchers so 4 donuts.

1.56 pm I was attracted by this poster of local taste donuts at Dunkin donuts kiosk.

The 3 local taste donuts.

He ate this chocolate rice donut before cooking ribs stomach soup.

He cooked this stomach ribs black bean herbal soup for his dinner which is very tasty. He gave a small portion of this soup for the Elderlies lunch the next day.

10.53 am - 2 chapfan no rice and one hot cham MYR 17.20 nett which means it is MYR 7, 8 and 2.2 for 3 items.

Bought this single pack of durian ice cream mochi from 711 MYR 7.90 nett.

His dinner of 3 siew Mai that remained from the Elderlies' breakfast bought by kid 1.

5.37 pm - My dinner of two hard boiled eggs.

9.04 am - my breakfast of cold raw wai Shan aka huai Shan.

Barramundi

On Monday 22.aug.2023, it was a last minute decision to go to Midvalley Mall for brunch. We went to Go Noodles eatery because we wanted to compare the not fried Barramundi fish fillets between Go Noodles and Mr. Fish.

11.43 am - he ordered non fried grouper fish fillets thin mihun soup with extra wine MYR 26.80+ that is indicated by the word premium. He also ordered spinach and century eggs soup MYR 14.90+ with very tasty century eggs.

I ordered non fried Barramundi fish fillets soup only MYR 27.50+ and there are about 8 pieces of fish fillets in it. Tasty.

11.45 am - his extra wine is served separately by default in a small wine cup. 

Conclusion is that both eateries' non fried Barramundi fish fillets are tasty. For superior soup: Go noodles' soup is a bit saltier than Mr. Fish's soup.

Total price is MYR 80.25 nett.

After that I walked past Dunkin' Donuts and saw the special donuts so I bought 4 using two hp app vouchers, MYR 5.50 nett for two donuts per voucher.

Mr Fish Pearl Point Again

On Sunday 20.aug.2023, went to Pearl Point to use Mr. Fish vouchers again. This is our off-duty Sunday.

11.08 am - premium grouper fillet soup MYR 31.90+ with thin mihun which turned out to be those a bit thick curly translucent mihun often used as fish head mihun. It only has 4 pieces of deep fried grouper with mihun and siew back choy.

Total MYR 55.90nett so used two vouchers and paid MYR 33.90 nett.

12.56 noon - 2nd round of the same day.

1.03 pm - my portion of thick mihun which turned out to be similar to mi Xian. I find it difficult to grip with my teeth as it is springy.

Total is MYR 52.35 nett so after use two vouchers, I paid MYR 32.35 nett. After using 4 vouchers, there are 3 vouchers remaining.

Braised Tofu

On Saturday 19.aug.2023, went to Taman Desa to buy the Elderlies lunch.

10.57 am - my chapfan no rice with steamed pumpkin, cauliflower, chives egg, braised egg and braised tofu. I like the taste of this braised tofu so I always order it when it is available.

10.58 am - his sai Yung choy soup. 2 chapfan no rice and 1 soup cost MYR 26 nett.

*** Tuck Tuck Tei coffee shop ***

11.17 am - 3jc soup mihun small portion MYR 8.50 nett and chapfan no rice MYR 7 nett for the Elderlies.

*** Fatty Mixed Rice Sri Petaling ***

4.24 pm - he went on his own to buy 3 packs of chapfan, 2 no rice and 1 with rice for the Elderlies and himself. Total price is MYR 23 nett.

New Mr. Fish Pearl Point

On Friday 18.aug.2023, he chauffeured kid 1 and the elderly for blood test at the hospital. After sending them home, picked me up for lunch at the newly opened Mr Fish eatery at Pearl Point

12.40 noon - his order of seafood mix soup noodles MYR 34.90+ with two pieces of deep fried grouper fish. Add MYR 2+ for ramen noodles which taste more like thin pan mee.

His hot osmanthus honey tea MYR 5.90+ is fragrant.

12.43 noon - I chose make-your-own-meal by selecting:

1. Teochew congee MYR 4.50+ which is a huge portion but the rice is fat and fluffy

2. One piece fried grouper fillet MYR 7+

3. One piece fried salmon fillet MYR 6.5+

4. Green vege which is nai pak MYR 2+

Total price MYR 20+

The teochew congee tastes good and he ate quite a lot of it too.

12.40 noon - total price is MYR 66.90 nett.

I bought a booklet of ten MYR 10 vouchers for MYR 70 nett which must be used up within two months. Each person can only use one voucher each time so for this time, we used two vouchers and paid MYR 46.90 nett.

2.09 pm - I buy takeaway fish and chips MYR 15.90+ with addition MYR 1+ for packaging. Paid MYR 10 using one voucher so there are 7 pieces vouchers remaining. I will have to visit this eatery for another 4 times to use up all the vouchers within 2 months.

There are 4 pieces of crispy deep fried fei chou yu fillet. Fei chou Yu I believe is tilapia fish. Taste is acceptable. The fries are meaty with a bit of salt sprinkled on top. I returned the small tub of tartar sauce to them as I don't want to eat tartar sauce.

In the menu, there is a meal called St. Peter's Fish Fillet Meehoon. This fish fillet is fei chou Yu fillet too.

12.40 noon - I wonder should I try this pumpkin pie next time.

12.18 noon - this is the eatery from afar.

1.26 pm - Mr. Fish opened for business in pearl point shopping mall on 5aug2023 I believe.

Cheat Day

On Thursday 17.aug.2023, the elderly requested for mcd.

12.33 noon - Kai see hor fun, mcd fish burger and mcd fried chicken for the Elderlies' lunch as per their request. He scrapped and cleaned the wounds.

10.28 am - went to sunny food republic eatery. Hot cham and cold cham total MYR 6.20 nett. Double egg pancake with curry gravy MYR 6 nett.

10.21 am - chicken prawn hor fun. 

10.31 am - my portion of the chicken prawn hor fun. We ate mcd fried chicken for dinner as we bought 5 pieces in order for the Elderlies to get a drumstick and a thigh. I also bought one fish burger without tartar sauce, mix and match apple pie one drumstick for us to share for dinner.

11.13 am - there is a new eatery named Ren Ren Kuey Teow Kia where Baskin Robbins used to be.

10.59 am - Kawan Place will be opening soon to replace Sweet Hut eatery in Sri Petaling.
