Weekly dinner at Jaya - Beef Rendang Nasi Lemak - MYR14++ (MYR16.30 nett) with a cup of hot coffee - MYR4++ (MYR4.70 nett) making it a total of MYR21 nett for 2 pax at Farmers Street, Jaya. It may not look appetising but it is quite tasty.

Lamb Chop

After NuxV mentioned that Dave's Deli has started business in Midvalley Mall, I went looking for it and found it on the same row as The Library and Kim Gary eateries.

The 30% off for all main meals promotion is available. This discount is not applicable for drinks.

But only on Mon to Fri excluding public holidays for dining in from 12 noon to 3 pm only. Hhhmmm, but then I worked quite a distance away. After the enjoyable meal previously, I hope to eat here on this promotion.

One day, my co-workers went to Midvalley Mall because they wanted to have lunch at Kim Gary but there was a long queue so we went to Dave Deli's which was nearby which also had a queue at the cashier counter where we had to place our orders and pay for our food before they were delivered to our table.

My order - Lamb Chop - MYR17.45 nett after 30% off the original price of MYR24.90 nett. The lamb chop is not exactly the fall-off-bone type but good enough. There were 3 pieces and I took 2 home for dinner since the sides of vegetable, mash potatoes and coleslaw alone were enough to keep me full for a while.

 Quarter Roasted Chicken at MYR14.60 nett after 30% off the original price of MYR20.80 nett. This is such a good deal when compared to some other eateries that serve Roasted Chicken too. There is a choice of a whole chicken leg or the breast portion.

Two of my co-workers ordered Chicken Chop at MYR14.60 nett after 30% off the original price of MYR20.80 nett and both of them could not finish this dish because it was too much for them. Same price as the quarter roasted chicken dish above. Which one do you prefer - Chicken Chop or Roasted Chicken?

 Foot long sausage at MYR13.25 nett after 30% off the original price of MYR18.90 nett. I ate this dish a long time ago when I was below 12 years old and found it to be quite tasty.

Simple Life

Lately I have been eating at vegetarian specialty eateries because my co-workers wanted to eat there and I am ok to eat there once in a while. This time, instead of  BMS Organics, we went to Simple Life because my friend felt like having their Organic Black Bean Soup that she had tried before.

My order - Mixed mushrooms herbal soup with pumpkin noodle set - MYR13.90+ 6% GST (MYR14.70 nett). A cup of green tea (hot) is included in this set. Fortunately the portion was small so I managed to finish it. I like eating various mushrooms so I find this dish quite tasty.

Mee Suah in Organic Black Bean Soup - MYR14.90+ 6% GST (MYR15.80 nett). I tried a bit of her dish and felt that it tasted better than my order so if she wants to eat here again, I may order this dish. She was halfway through her bowl of mee suah when I took the above photo. There were more ingredients in the bowl before that.

"Leadsafe for a healthier living" was written on the inside rim of the cup.

Total Bill is MYR30.50 nett for 2 pax.

Simple Life at the Gardens Mall. I was surprised to see that it was full house.during lunch time. People are more health conscious now and healthy vegetarian is the way to go, so it seems.  

Sekinchan Catch

We noticed a new eatery in One Utama so we went to try the food there.

Red Grouper Fish Slices noodle MYR25 nett. I chose to have kway teow and bee hoon as the noodle. The fish slices are fresh and tasty. The broth is very light in taste, not salty at all. I will have this fish noodle again.

Fish Ball noodle - MYR10 nett.

Seafood noodle - MYR16 nett. There is only one prawn but many clams.

Total price for 3 pax is MYR51 nett.

Sekinchan Catch by Teo Chew Lor

Teo Chew Lor which owns Sekinchan Catch - it moved from its previous location to a bigger shop unit which is opposite its old shop unit which is now occupied by Sekinchan Catch.

El Fresco Jaya Grocer

5 of us went to the "food court" by Jaya Grocer in the Gardens Mall for lunch and bought half a roast chicken (MYR32.90 nett) with 2 sides to share - we chose mash potatoes and apple salad as the sides. One of us ordered a bowl of mushroom soup and the rest of us ordered the same too because the drinks here are more expensive than a bowl of mushroom soup (MYR6.80 nett each). 

There is a promotion of buy one pizza and get 50% off the 2nd pizza. We ordered a smoked salmon pizza and a quattro stagioni (four seasons) pizza. After we paid, we were informed that the smoked salmon pizza was not available so we replaced the smoked salmon pizza (MYR32.90 nett) with a lamb meatball pizza (MYR26.90 nett) which was lower in price. Instead of asking for a cash refund on the difference in price, we opted to have an additional bowl of side dish which is about the same price as the cash refund. We chose vegetables (broccoli, carrots and baby tomatoes) as the side dish. This price for this side dish is stated as MYR7.50 nett on the menu. 

Quattro Stagioni (four seasons) thin crust pizza - chicken sausage, beef, mushrooms and tuna - MYR27.80 nett but was MYR13.90 nett due to the 50% off promotion for the 2nd pizza.

 Lamb meatball thin crust pizza. The price (MYR26.90 nett) is a bit lower than the smoked salmon pizza (MYR32.90 nett). Both thin crust pizzas are very tasty and crunchy but is a bit on the salty side.

Total Bill is MYR113.70 nett which means about MYR22.75 for one pax.

Caffe Bene

Coffee (MYR12.70 nett) and Choco Nuts Waffle (MYR15.90 nett)

The waffle is quite small and some of the nuts have an off-taste.

Not for nightmares, I hope

This is a nice place to sit to while away the time and wait for the after work rush hour traffic jam to subside.

At the total price of MYR28.60 nett with a so-so taste, I don't think I will return for this choco nuts waffle.

Molten Lava Cake

We went to Uncle Don's eatery again for lunch to celebrate a co-worker's birthday. After finishing our main meals, we waited for quite some time for this Molten Lava Cake with ice cream (about MYR7.80) to sing the birthday song. All of us had a bite of the small cake. The taste is quite good. Oh, why was the candle on the scoop of ice cream instead of the cake?
