Egg yolk pastry

This pineapple tart was given to me and it was bought from the same shop as the Taiwan coconut pastry.

Nice individual box

Name of the shop - (阿明師老店太陽堂)

The tart was nicely wrapped in plastic in the nice box.

It is actually in a plastic bag

The fillings - very little pineapple paste but lots of egg yolk from salted eggs.

Soup or dry

Wanton Noodles with Chicken Breast Meat (Soup) - MYR5.5 - one of my favourite noodle.

Wanton Noodles with Duck Breast Meat (Dry) - around MYR12 - too much dark sauce, I prefer the above soup version.

Roti Jala

Roti Jala with curry chicken - MYR10.85 plus 5% (service charge) at Nyonya colour. I prefer the roti jala to be soft and doughy like this one.

Sam You Serdang

Another meal with the in-laws to celebrate a special occasion. Hee Lai Ton, Wisma Shaw, the favourite restaurant, was fully booked for a wedding banquet so we had to choose another place.

Mixed platter - jellyfish, deep fried pork belly, deep fried crab fish meat ball, and stirfried mushroom and asparagus.

This was included in the set meal - quite oily. Actually I can't appreciate this dish and will not order this at all.

Steamed fish

20 large-medium prawns in shells - quite a task to remove the shells and eat this so there were leftovers to be brought home.

This vege was not tender at all

Fried rice - the green colour came from spinach. We were quite full when this dish was served so we thought there would be leftovers but surprisingly one of the young persons at our table finished this.

Cold dessert - I only managed to snap a photo after it was half finished.

We took the easy way out by just ordering from the set menu. MYR399++ for set 1. A bowl of soup was included which I did not show here because we are not supposed to consume this product from a wildlife.

DIY

Since I don't cook and don't bake and always eat out, on days that I don't feel like going out, this is what my meal will look like: processed food - sausage, with bread, raw cucumber and raw tomatoes. Works as well.

I Love Yoo!

One set of hot soy milk with deep fried "you tiao" (chinese cruller) - MYR4.60 and one bowl of tofufa "kosong" (without any syrup) - MYR3.30 to line the empty stomach before a main meal, shared by 3 persons. Please pardon the spilled soymilk on the tray.

I love yoo - Nice name  but totally different words in Chinese - the phrase "lo yao gui gui (老友鬼鬼)" - means very close buddies but the chinese characters used here 老油鬼鬼 means "old youtiao" because you tiao in Cantonese is 油炸鬼 (deep fried ghost in oil) so the name of the shop is a clever play on chinese words with the same sound (homonym).
