On Friday 30.may.2025, went to Oug for brunch.
*** Waxberry aka Yang Mei aka Bayberry ***
3.04 pm - cross section of a fresh waxberry.
It is juicy, a bit sweet and a bit sourish. I like the taste.
He says that there is a bit of pink jambu air and a bit of lychee taste. The after taste in my mouth is red watermelon juice.
3 pm - saw this fresh waxberry in food merchant supermarket in OUG so quickly bought one box as I have been looking to buy it since 2023. One box of 350g for MYR 39.20 nett.
3 pm - there are 25 waxberries for 350 g.
*** Yang Kee beef noodles OUG ***
10.38 am - the previous night I felt like eating yang Kee beef noodles. Ordered 3 items.
Total for 3 items MYR 48.50 nett.
*** Kwong Wah Ais OUG ***
11.12 am - 3 bowls of ice with less sugar. Total MYR 21.30 nett.
This kwong wah Ais eatery is moving to dataran Loka kuchai lama soon. After this we went to food merchant supermarket in OUG and then to ssg collection center to pick up a parcel so went to a nearby coffee shop for coffee.

1 pm - iced cham C kosong MYR 3.30 nett for me and iced less sweet Hainan tea MYR 3.30 nett for him.
1 pm - his chicken pieces curry noodles. I didn't eat this curry noodles because I was still full.

4 pm - kept 9 waxberries for my friend to try
4 pm - we ate 16 waxberries. The seeds are bigger than the seeds of cherries.
At 6 pm, I ate two tea eggs bought from fa lian herbal shop with two slices of bread.
Morning 44.05
Next morning 44.45
Retained 400g water because ate too much and completed my meals too late at 7 pm.

Now you got me curious about waxberry. I like fruits that have a sourish sweet taste.

DeleteOh I have never come across waxberries. Looks a bit like lychee.. pulasan...
ReplyDeleteBut you can eat the whole waxberry like strawberry, not like lychee and pulasan that need to remove the peel before eating the flesh.
