Popiah KoKan

On Tuesday 21.nov.2023, early morning he went over to prepare breakfast but the elderly was not home so he waited. The elderly walked to the nearby makeshift morning market and was back with a new pair of slippers MYR 15 nett. 

He put the elderly's laundry into the washing machine and start the washing process before preparing breakfast. After breakfast, we went for our brunch at KoKan coffee shop. On the way back, he stopped by to air the laundry then at 1 pm, he went over to prepare lunch of the siew yuk roast chicken thigh meat MYR 10 nett bought at KoKan with previous night dinner kept by the elderly in the freezer.

8.53 am - prawn Mee with prawns

8.53 am - roast duck meat for 1 pax, two braised eggs and 1 braised tofu, total price MYR 14 nett.

8.49 am - one hot cham aka coffee aka tea and iced coffee MYR 6.10 nett.

9.03 am - traditional popiah MYR 3.50 nett and seaweed citrus mayo popiah MYR 7 nett.

9.12 am - cross section. Traditional popiah has cooked jicama as fillings and seaweed popiah has raw jicama as fillings.

JP & Co Pavilion Bukit Jalil

On Monday 20.nov.2023, early morning he went over to prepare breakfast for the elderly. Then we went to Pavilion Bukit Jalil for his lunch and my omad.

12.41 noon - my salmon set MYR 30.90++ which we shared as he has eaten his lunch at Oriental Kopi before this meal. I took home half bowl of rice to keep in the freezer for another day. The rice is hidden under the egg omelette in the bowl in the photo above.

12.37 noon - premium cake set MYR 23.90++ and I chose one maple caramel chocolate cake and hot Americano coffee. He ate a bit of the cake and drank some coffee.

Total bill MYR 63.55 nett. Will be back to try their poke bowls, healthy bowls with quinoa, lamb shank, nasi lemak lamb shank and more.

1.41 pm - JP & Co Pavilion Bukit Jalil. They have a kiosk selling cakes outside the eatery so customers have to choose the cake at the kiosk themselves because there is no cake menu.

1.02 pm - the maple caramel chocolate cake is of good quality with solid pure taste of chocolate and maple caramel with almond flakes in the cake. Sweet but not overly sweet.

Next morning: 41.95

So it means with omad, I can eat my meal and desserts before noon and still maintain the numbers. Very good 👍

11.49 am - his lunch of our favourite dish at Oriental Kopi: fried boneless chicken pieces with mihun MYR 16.90++ which I ate a bit.

11.44 am - his hot hainanese cham aka coffee mix tea MYR 6.40++ and my butter kaya toast MYR 4.90++ that has thick butter in it so after eating this butter, I won't be hungry at all until the next day.

Elderly

1. 7 am he went over to prepare breakfast

2. 9.49 am Got a surprise call from the care center who was just as surprise to get a visit from the elderly alone. Sent grab to pick up and send home.

3. 2.30 pm stopped by to switch on the tv for the elderly because after the surprise move to visit care center, seemed to forget how the tv remote controller looks like so couldn't switch on the tv. Just sitting quietly in front of a tv that is not on.

Asked elderly about how and the reply is just get a stranger who always park the car outside the house to send by paying MYR 50 nett.

With no center name and no address, the elderly managed to remember the fixed route that kid1 always use and the land marks along the way to guide the stranger to the care center house. Without knowing the care center house number, the elderly recognized the place by the huge gate along the road. What a big achievement for the elderly. Now the children need to discuss what is the next step.

On Sunday 19.nov.2023, early morning went to drop off some items at the care center that the elderly requested the previous day.  Then went to Starling mall to try out two eateries: twins signature roast duck and wei kee Penang Kimberley duck kway chap.

*** Twins Signature Roast Duck Uptown ***

9.53 am - half a roast duck with dripping juice and crispy skin MYR 42 nett. Thin qq wanton noodles with melting siew yuk and smokey sweet char siew MYR 18.50 nett. 😋 Tasty! I ate a lot of juicy fats under the duck crispy skin.

10 am - hot no sugar coffee MYR 3.50 nett that is thick and robust in taste.

10.12 am - both of us couldn't eat all of half a duck so took the remaining duck home.

10.24 am - total bill is MYR 64 nett for two pax.

10.38 am - twins eatery occupies an end lot shop. We then adjourned to Capital nasi dagang one door away to wait for wei kee Penang Kimberley duck kway chap eatery to open at 11.30 am.

10.40 am - both of us shared kaya butter toasts and hot cham MYR 8 nett while waiting for the 3rd eatery to open for lunch.

Ordered shopee food delivery of siew Mai and congee MYR 18.80 nett inclusive of delivery fees after deducting MYR 6 nett discount evoucher for the elderly's lunch from phang Kee dim sum eatery.

*** Wei Kee Penang Kimberley duck kway chap ***

11.29 am - a bowl of kway chap with all default toppings including blood cubes to share between the two of us. ALA carte dishes of heart, head, ears and belly. The kway chap broth is light in taste. No msg because I wasn't thirsty at all after drinking it all. The kway chap is a bit QQ.

11.43 am - took the remaining home.

Total is MYR 59 nett inclusive of a takeaway portion of knuckle.

Takeaway knuckle MYR 14 nett for my friend who says that it is tasty without strong porky taste.

11.48 am - This is part of the ear.

11.51 am - wei Kee Penang Kimberley duck kway chap uptown.

12 noon - pass bubble wrappings from deliveries to good people who will give them a new life. Then bought some groceries from jaya Grocer to pass to my friend at 1.20 pm.

Parking MYR 3 nett from 9.21 am to 12.47 noon, about 3 hours 26 mins.

1.30 pm ish check.on the elderly who only started to eat lunch.

6.30 pm ish bought old cucumber soup and single portion rice for the elderly's dinner.

Claypot Chicken Rice

On Saturday 18.nov.2023, it is 3 times a day day. Early morning he went over to prepare breakfast. Then we went to Taman Desa for brunch and dropped off some items at the care center. Then it is lunch for the elderly and back. In the evening he bought claypot chicken rice and lotus root soup MYR 22.50 nett for the elderly's dinner and he ate the surplus.

*** Sing Kee Kitchen Taman Desa ***

10.53 am - 2 chapfan no rice with old cucumber ribs soup MYR 29 nett. Then he bought 3jc mihun soup for the elderly from tuck Tuck Tei coffee shop while I bought 2x30g tiger balm plus MYR 11 each and fisherman's friend blue MYR 4.50 nett for my friend.

10.51 am - this vegetarian dish is very tasty with crunchy lotus roots, chickpeas, carrots, red and yellow capsicums, sweet peas, dry tofu strips and sesame seeds.

*** Pistachio without shells ***

At about 2pm, I ate all the remaining pistachios in this container. Because they are deshelled, they are softer and not as tasty as those in shells. Before that I ate one mini kit Kat ice cream and ate all the remaining carte D'or coffee and chocolate ice cream which is not that sweet but is milky.

*** Dinner ***

6.49 pm - he bought claypot chicken rice and lotus root soup MYR 22.50 nett for the elderly's dinner.

Disinhibited

On Friday 17.nov.2023, he wanted to eat pan Mee at Swee Hing coffee shop but the stall is not open.

*** Swee Hing coffee shop ***

10.12 am - his dry 3jc mihun kway Teow MYR 9 nett. Hot cham and iced Cham total MYR 5.90 nett.

10.21 am - I ate all his remaining 3jc noodles.

10.19 am - I added a fried egg to duck ckt kway Teow yellow Mee mixed with see ham MYR 12.50 nett. Both of us shared this ckt so the portion for me is not that much. A carby omad for me. After this brunch, I didn't eat anything else for this day.

*** Protein ***

10.58 am - I bought this one portion siew yuk MYR 9 nett from Canton z stall Jalan perisa for him because I think he needs to eat more protein. I didn't eat any of it because the stall staff has pour a spoonful of shallot oil and deep fried shallots on top of the siew yuk.

*** His early dinner ***

3.48 pm - he fried two eggs for his early dinner and ate them with the remaining half of avocado from his morning breakfast.

On Thursday 16.nov.2023, he went over to prepare breakfast for the Elderly. Then back for a while before we went to Golden Chopsticks for chapfan lunch. Then back to the elderly to prepare lunch.

10.37 am - 2 chapfan no rice MYR 14 nett and 1 hot coffee MYR 2.30 nett. I ordered a small portion of roast chicken breast meat MYR 6 nett. He then bought 3 braised hard boiled eggs from 126 Kopitiam which is back to back with golden Chopsticks coffee shop. I walked home.

*** Pistachios ***

Later in the evening I ate a pack of nutrione  baked pistachios 85g, mochi durian ice cream, one slice of bread and one braised hard boiled egg.

Morning 42.95

Next morning 42.3 so pistachios really made the number go lower.

11.37 am - reheat previous day dinner for the elderly and add one braised hard boiled egg.

Nurse care center raised question about 120 ish pulse. No symptoms so ok to wait till next hospital check-up.

Choc Pieces Ice Cream

On Wednesday 15.nov.2023, at 7.08 am, while I was in dreamland, he is in Sepetang Coffee shop Taman Desa having his breakfast. Then he went to the care center and grab to the hospital for the elderly's 3rd physiotherapy appointment. Was back at 12 noon.

12.04 noon - he bought pork neck siew yuk from a van in Taman Desa MYR 25 nett.

12.05 pm - MYR 5 roast chicken rice from Sepetang Coffee shop Taman Desa.

12.15 noon - my omad with this portion 

*** Carte D'or Chocolate ice cream ***

2.33 pm - I ate all the remaining strawberry ice cream.

2.52 pm - ate half a tub of chocolate ice cream with lots of chocolate pieces instead so it is tasty. Not that sweet.

8.39 am - grabbing to hospital him and the elderly. Kid 1 is meeting them at the hospital.

10 am - physiotherapy did some walking holding on to railings.

11.13 am - grabbing back to care center.
