Soft Rice CCF

On Thursday 19.may.22, went to Swee Hing and 126 coffee shop to buy food for ourselves and lunch for the Elderlies.

11 am - 2 pieces ccf, 1 bitter gourd ytf, and 2 brinjals ytf at MYR 10.20 nett. I like this ccf a lot because it is soft, not springy at all and taste fully of rice so it has very little other kinds of flour in it, most is rice flour.

From Sweet Hing coffee shop, also bought:

2. Small portion of rice, half a salted egg as requested by the elderly, minced meat omelette and brinjal MYR 5.5

Must remember to ask them for feedback on this economy rice on Saturday when he sends food to them.

Cereal Prawns

On Wednesday 18.may.22, ate the previous day's Yang Kee beef noodles as lunch and Wawa vege. Bought one grabfood delivery for dinner.

6 pm - our shared dinner of braised minced meat rice and cereal Prawns. There are 15 deshelled prawns coated by fragrant cereal flakes. The rice meal includes half a braised egg, two slices of sweet waxed sausage, pickled cabbage and braised minced meat. Both dishes are very tasty and we finished eating them in one sitting. The container that holds the prawns is made from decomposable material but not its cover. I am not sure why they provided us with a small tub of red chili flakes in oil which we didn't use at all.

Again, we couldn't access the Sri Petaling on the app so we ordered the two different dishes from Mr Wu Serdang. Used the 42% off Flash42 promo voucher. In the morning, we noticed that the only branch appearing in the app is the Puchong Kenari branch which later in the evening, cannot be found. This app has its own algorithm for showing us the eateries in it.

Cereal Salted Egg Chicken

On Tuesday 17.may.22, we bought food and grocery deliveries for the Elderlies and later at 4 pm, went to a stationery store buy a pack of 12 dice at MYR 3 for the Elderlies for they have lost their dice for mahjung. They play mahjung daily to exercise their brain. During this trip, we also bought siew yuk roast chicken thigh rice at MYR 8 from New Lucky coffee shop for our shared dinner.

*** Monday 16.may.22 ***

12.20 noon - Tried another set meal from Mr. Wu eatery: Cereal Salted Egg Chicken Rice set for our shared lunch. The salted egg cereal with curry leaves give a very fragrant aroma.  There are about 6 pieces of chicken meat coated by cereal. There are also pickled cabbage in this rice set which are covered by the cereal. A very rich dish so I felt very full after eating my portion.

I will order the cereal prawn balls dish next time.

Instead of Sri Petaling outlet, the app has only Serdang outlet this time so our order was placed with this outlet.

*** Tuesday 17.may.22 ***

The Elderlies' lunch and our shared lunch. Kept one pack for the next day.

Bought Gardenia wholemeal bread for the Elderlies using Pandamart. Used a 20% discount voucher for this order.

Feng Shik Eatery

On Monday 16.may.22, ordered one grabfood delivery from Mr. Wu Eatery in Serdang and one Foodpanda delivery.

12 noon - Both of us ate a bit of these two dishes for lunch and finished eating all of them for dinner. Both dishes taste acceptable.

The portion of rice for the sweet and sour fish is huge. The rice is soft and warm. The fish fillet is very thin but with the batter coating, it is thicker. Raw pieces of chili in soy sauce are provided in a small bag.

The noodles are also soft and the taste is not too salty and not too sweet. There are about 6 slices of fish fillet and some choy sum vegetables. Sambal is provided in a small bag.

Used the MYR 5 compensation voucher for this Foodpanda delivery order so the final price is MYR 21 nett.

Change to Pickup

On Sunday 15.may.22, went to Taman Desa and buy food for lunch for the Elderlies and ourselves.

11 am - our shared lunch from Tuck Tuck Tei coffee shop. Price is MYR 9 for:

1. Small portion of rice

2. Okra

3. Napa cabbage

4. One braised egg

5. Egg tofu

6. Soyknots

7. Brinjal tiny minced meat

Nasi Lemak with potatoes curry, pork curry and tiny prawns sambal at MYR 9 from Sepetang coffee shop shared by the both of us for lunch too.

Lunch for the Elderlies from Tuck Tuck Tei coffee shop:

1. 3jc mihun soup at MYR 7.5

Also bought a similar pack for ourselves

2. Medium portion of ccf, 2 brinjals ytf, 1 bitter gourd ytf, 1 bean curd sheet ytf, 1 deep fried roll for MYR 13.30

Bought:

1. 2 siew Bao and 1 egg tart at MYR 2.20 each from Sing Kee Kitchen coffee shop

2. Dry curry chicken wanton noodles from Sepetang coffee shop at MYR 7 nett. They use chicken thighs for the curry chicken so the meat is smooth and soft. It is also not spicy so will be suitable for the Elderlies.

3. Gardenia wholemeal bread at MYR 3.60 for the Elderlies from 7-11 convenient store.

For the Elderlies' dinner, they requested for new lucky bkt with pork ribs and not pork thigh so the order was placed at about 4.40 pm but the app kept postponing the delivery time. At 5.30 pm, we did a chat with Foodpanda help center who said 6.08 pm but we can't take the risk in case it gets postponed again so asked to be changed to pickup. 

There was no function to directly change the order from delivery to pickup so the help center changed the order status to cancelled and then only after I have picked up the order, the status was changed to delivered. When the status was changed to cancelled, the seller was alarmed because they have already prepared the food, all packed so the seller called Foodpanda help center which then called us and then we have to tell the Foodpanda help center that we are on the way to pick up the order so the help center then called the seller to inform them to wait for customers to pick up the order. So it was a long winded and confusing process to change from delivery to pickup.

The help center informed us that they won't reimburse us with one free propanda delivery since we used up one free delivery for this order and we had to agree before they change the delivery order to pick up. Later we requested for a delayed compensation so they gave us a MYR 5 voucher. I guess Foodpanda also doesn't have enough riders after 4 pm, just like Grabfood.

The Elderlies' dinner from New Lucky BKT at MYR 21.76 which we picked up the order ourselves due to a delayed in the delivery time which kept getting postponed. The cabbage is napa cabbage.

Food Plating

On Saturday 14.may.22, ordered 2 grabfood deliveries and 1 Foodpanda delivery.

12.40 noon - Dish 1: Teriyaki chicken drumstick rice for the elderlies' lunch. They love the soft warm rice and say this dish is so tasty! The two slices of red sausage are from dish 2 below.

Dish 2: Braised minced pork rice for the Elderlies' lunch. They also love this braised egg. Half the teriyaki chicken is from dish 1.

11.51 am - the original packaging of dish 1 and dish 2. We bought dish 1 for ourselves too, to share between the two of us. He wanted to give the Elderlies both dish 1 because he says dish 2 looks so pathetic compared to dish 1 so I suggest to him to plate the two dishes nicely and distribute the chicken teriyaki and sausage evenly. With the nice plating, dish 2 didn't look pathetic and the Elderlies gave thumbs up to these two dishes.

Ordered this at 4.40 pm but it was only delivered to the Elderlies at 5.50 pm. In the evening, grabfood has difficulty finding riders. Perhaps the riders went to work elsewhere since life is back to pre pandemic times. Used grabfood subscription 50% off e-voucher.

*** Canton Kitchen ***

6 pm - our dinner. He drank a bowl of soup and kept the remaining soup for the next day. I counted that there are 15 slices of sweet sour fish fillets. I put the fish fillets into another bowl when I counted them and the gravy with the onions, capsicums and pieces of tomato remained in the plastic container. Next time I will order the single sweet sour fish fillets rice set and count the number of slices of fish fillets for a single person's portion.

After all discounts, the price for two main dishes and one portion of rice is MYR 36.15 and I had to place my order at 3 pm because during lunch and dinner time, the eatery will be too busy to cater for food delivery since everyone is dining in nowadays.

Knuckle Dry Noodles

On Friday 13.may.22, didn't order any food deliveries because already ordered the food for Friday on Thursday and kept them in the fridge.

1 pm - his lunch of pork knuckles noodles dry. Ate the skin after removing the fats underneath the skin. I ate a bit of the noodles, meat and half the egg. Taste is good.

For breakfast, he ate the pork mihun soup bought from swee Heng on Thursday. I ate a small portion and found that the pieces of liver are very tasty so it is the best pork noodles in soup around this area.

6.43 pm - his dinner of braised pork rice. I ate a small portion. I really like the braised eggs from this eatery. The taste of the spices used to braise the hard boiled eggs is very fragrant.

Food is bought and delivered on Thursday which is the previous day after lunch hours and before dinner hours, at 3.43 pm to make full use of the discounts offered by shopeefood. Only MYR 17.74 nett for these two dishes after applying all discounts. There are many outlets of this eatery in shopeefood. The nearest outlet to us is located in desa Petaling and the next one is located in Taman Desa. We like the taste of the spices used by this eatery so we will continue to buy food from them.
