From ice cream to cookies.
Savoury cheese cookies called kaasstengels. Tasty and crispy made with Edam cheese, a dutch cheese. They are popular in Indonesia with dutch influences. I wish they are bigger. They are so small and dainty that I could eat one whole tub (40 pieces) in one seating.
Nicely wrapped in bubble wrap. According to this wiki link:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaasstengels
kaas is the dutch word for "cheese", while stengels means "sticks".
This advert pops up in my insta and it attracted me to buy it because I love to eat savoury cheese cookies and true enough, they are very tasty! 😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤*** Tuesday 22 Dec 2020 d280 ***

Cute Christmas card. I guess it came with your purchases? That's nice.
ReplyDeleteIt is a self printed Christmas card by the seller.
Deletefeeling Christmassy already....So this cheese sticks are savoury? like cheezels?
ReplyDeleteMore cheesy than cheezels and not sweet at all. Cheezels are still a bit sweet. This is not sweet at all.
DeleteYaaassss! I seriously wanna try this Kaasstengels. I cannot recall whether I had seen this in Indonesia over the years. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNp, I also don't know about this delicious cookie until a few days ago.
DeleteOoo. I bet I would love Kaasstengels. But really so small. Haha
ReplyDeleteIf you like cheese you will like this.
DeleteBeautiful cheesy cookies. They must be very tasty. Pretty Christmas card.
ReplyDeleteCheesy and not sweet so is tasty.
DeleteGuess cheese is expensive so you won't get the quantity, just quality. Are you eating them with a fork or that's just for size comparison?
ReplyDeleteI like both meiji and hwatai crackers. And have decided I don't really like Jacob's - now have to finish the Jacob's I just bought (when I THOUGHT I'd bought Hwatai!).
The fork is for size comparison. Don't think can pick up using a fork. Jacob crackers if you buy the low salt high fiber I don't think you will like it at all cos you don't like those very healthy food cos not heavy taste. Hehehehe, blur a bit you think you bought hwatai but is jacob. 😊😂
DeleteI went for the 'normal' one. The low salt high fiber one is totally not for me! Ya I was wavering between HT and Jacob, then must have picked Jacob thinking it'd be healthier for the kids. But somehow in my mind I had a packet of HT in the cupboard haha.
DeleteAnyway the kids don't like it either.
Since SE and JE don't like both, I guess you don't need to buy crackers biscuits anymore unless you want to eat them yourself.
DeleteYeah. But first I need to clear these Jacob ones. By then I'd probably not want cream crackers for quite some time!
DeleteAsk your helper to help you eat the Jacob crackers. 😋
DeleteThe kaasstengels looks yummy and tempting!
ReplyDeleteThey are as yummy as they look.
DeleteThe kaasstengels looks so exqusite. So you can eat all 40 in one seating? Must be really tasty. :D
ReplyDeleteI could but u didn't. Yes they are tasty.
DeleteThose Dutch cookies are indeed so small. Had you not put a fork beside them for comparison, I would not have guessed!
ReplyDeleteThey are indonesian cookies influenced by the dutch.
DeleteI would enjoy these cookies as I love cheesy savory taste.
ReplyDeleteI think you will too.
