The place is...

...where I used to go for lunch at around 11 am during work days with my co-workers because they open early for breakfast and are ready for lunch at that time. We chose items from the set lunch menu because each set includes drinks too and that makes the price attractive. That was before the price increased by MYR1 for every item on the set lunch menu in October 2015 and they added new items to that menu too.

I have tried their Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti with Goo Leng Ping drink (MYR14.90++ 10% service charge and 6% GST = MYR17.40 back then. Now the price is MYR15.90++). I did not really know what Goo Leng Ping was when I ordered it. Turned out to be a rose syrup with milk drink. The pasta was a bit too al dente for my liking.

Another lunch set that I have ordered is their Panini Fish Burger and chips with a Lime juice drink without sugar (MYR13.90++ 10% service charge and 6% GST = MYR16.20 back then. Now the price is MYR14.90++). The deep fried fish fillet is like those that one buys frozen in a box from supermarket to deep fry at home, just passable.

I did not take any photos for the meals above but I did take some photos when I ordered the baked soy sauce chicken rice set with a Lime juice drink without sugar (MYR12.60++ 10% service charge and 6% GST = MYR14.70 back then. Now the price is MYR13.60++). As chicken is my last choice, I was going to order something else but I changed my mind at the last minute when I placed the order so chicken it was. The whole chicken leg was very flavourful and filling.

All these were before the beef lasagna order. Now I will not eat at this place ever again.

Chicken rice set with drink - MYR13.6++ = MYR15.85 nett (price now)

Lots of rice and a big chicken leg - very filling so I did not finish eating the rice. I forgot to ask them to give me half of the normal portion of rice.

  1. So this is the same place that you ordered the Lasagna from. But the chicken leg rice looks good.

  2. Expensive but expected at classy places such as this - most importantly, it must taste really great, the service is good, nice and comfortable ambiance...otherwise, we'd be better off settling for something similar at half the price at a coffee shop of hawker centre. The lasagna was probably the last straw that broke the camel's back.

Any place that charges the 10% service charge, I would just go elsewhere...or never go back there again. That, I believe, is the customer's prerogative - to give or not to give...and they must reflect that they deserve it in what and how they serve. The key words - serve and DEserve...

    1. Unfortunately, over here, if we choose not to patronise those places that charge the 10% service charge, we won't have many places to go! :D

    2. Yes charging 10% service charge is very common in kl.

    3. No coffee shop around this place. Only a food court that serves not tasty food with not so cheap price.

  3. Thanks for enlightening me on what goo leng ping is, I didn't know too. I heard this drink name a lot, but never found out what it was.

And thanks for revealing the restaurant name. So this place is a classy looking restaurant that serves frozen food. Not going to go there. Gordon Ramsay would have a field day scolding the sh*t out of them.

    1. The decor like fullhouse is considered classy? You are welcome about the gu leng peng. I was told by my friend that gu leng basically means milk.

    1. I don't know how many customers ordered lasagna and got served food like that. If many then they may lose more than one customer.

  6. actually the chicken rice set looks fine to me, quite a big portion with a big whole chicken leg, and drinks too!! but too bad, they have this lousy watery, cheese floating in lumps lasagne that make them lose one once-loyal customer..

    1. I think it is not the lasagna is lousy but they did the wrong thing when heating up the frozen lasagna to cause it to be watery.

  9. This restaurant has been around for sometime since their first branch and I think they have grown to almost 10 outlets now. Good food with reasonable price. I had never tasted a good Gu Leng Ping in KL yet. Must try this one!
