Char Siew Wanton noodle in soup MYR5.50 nett which is cheaper than the bowl of 5 dumplings (sui kao) MYR6 nett.
White coffee MYR3 nett and purple sweet potatoes sweet soup also the same price as the white coffee.
Bright and clean interior
They are supposed to be a branch of the famous Meng Kee Restaurant along Tengkat Tong Shin. I have only eaten there once a very, very, very long time ago. There is another branch in Kuchai Enterpreneur Park which I also have been there once a very, very long time ago.
Nett price
There is a banner which says "New opening". Those familiar with Happy Garden will recognise this row of old shophouses.
The sui kao looks very appetizing
ReplyDeleteThese ones are the better ones.
DeleteNormally I would have my wanton noodles dry, but your soup version looks good too, maybe I will try soup version one of these days
ReplyDeleteSoup is good on a cold day.
DeleteEeeeekkkk!!!! Purple sweet potatoes! LOL!!! The two choices in the first pic sure look good.
ReplyDeleteHow come you don't like the natural purple colour?
DeleteGosh, the dumpling looks so fresh & plumpy! Happy weekend, dear! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThe noodles and sui kao look pretty good. I prefer the dry style wanton noodles.
ReplyDeleteSeems like many prefer dry wtm to soup ones.
DeleteI wouldn't mind having the same for my dinner. Even though I prefer dry version but once in a while I will order the soup version. I love sui kao.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Like to eat sui kao.
DeleteNormal, sui kao always more expensive than noodles one... I actually don't like sui kao that much due to those crunchy veggie bits in the filling, but my mom loves those.
ReplyDeleteThe crunchy bits are the best because they are water chestnuts.
DeleteOh yes, we go to Meng Kee few times a month for lunch.. Colleagues like it there.. The char-siew is very very good.. But very expensive, RM40 for a small plate, not enuff, everyone just gets 2 pieces, hehe..
ReplyDeleteYou all go to the shah alam branch?
DeleteI've also eaten at the Tengkat Tong Shin one a very long time ago. I hear that there's also one in Shah Alam. But I get my fix from the Taman Shamelin one, opened by one of the brothers.
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't know there are so many outlets.
DeleteNot bad the wanton noodle soup. Quite a portion for that price.
ReplyDeletePrice seems ok
DeleteI like dry wanton noodles more, hehe!
ReplyDeleteYou too!?
DeleteIn this stormy weather here now, this looks so appealing.
ReplyDeleteTrue. How's the weather at your sidenow?
DeleteThere's one in Glenmarie too I think. Hmm pretty stingy on the char siew in your noodle considering they're famous for char siew!
ReplyDeleteThey want us to order the famous char siew separately so that they can make more I guess. The branch at Kuchai Lama also gives very little char siew in their noodles so I only went there once and no more.
DeleteMy in-law relatives live near there so I will look out for this shop.
ReplyDeleteSweet potatoes are good for health and I didn;t even realise it until my wife told me.
Your wife is correct, the purple colour contains anti oxidant.
