Laksam

I believe Laksam is a Kelantan dish and refers to the noodle that is made from rice flour. The sauce is made from coconut milk and ground fish meat so the sauce is very rich and can be cloying if eaten too much.

This is how the Laksam noodles look like.

Update (15 February 2016 Monday): Price is MYR18.30 plus 6% GST (no service charge) = MYR19.40 nett. Apple Kasturi drink: MYR12.10 nett.

Get satiated very quickly so this dish has to be shared

  7. I have eaten laksam before, but is home cooked. Got a Kelantanese colleague brought a big pot to the office as thanks for our gifts to his newborn baby. It was alright, but I don't think I will order it at restaurants XD

    1. Why not order in restaurants? Because you can always get your colleague to cook it for you?

    2. Not quite used to the flavors, that's all I can say.. And don't ask me to describe what flavor specifically, laksam flavor lah XD

    3. I didn't detect any unique laksam flavor. Perhaps it is just the way your colleague cooks it, not the same as the one I ate.

  8. Never taste laksam before. I would take few spoons but not too much if it has too much coconut milk. My stomach would feel comfortable if have too much coconut milk.

    1. After mixing with the fish meat, the coconut milk taste is not that distinct.

  11. Ah I JUST tried this last week! I quite like it. Only thing I'm fussy about the noodle being so bland inside. I ended up cutting up each of them before eating so the sauce can go in. :)

  14. I had never tried so many types of local Malay food which are often delicious. I need to try this Laksam too as I believe the coconut based is definitely my liking.
