I like to eat chestnuts so I bought this packet of chestnuts (roasted with coffee beans) 300g for MYR14. The table spoon in the photo above is to show the size of the chestnuts which is quite small. It is easy to peel as the chestnuts in my opinion have been roasted for far too long and the nuts have shrunk and do not stick to their skins anymore. They are sweet and tasty but I think I prefer to buy raw chestnuts and boil them to eat rather than to buy this again.
Chestnut, not to my liking...
ReplyDeleteWhy not?
Deleteyummy but I would be lazy to peel it..
ReplyDeleteTakes a long time to peel usually if not over roasted.
DeleteSame here...I'm very lazy to peel it too...hehe!!! =]
DeleteThought it's hard to peel...
ReplyDeleteNormally it is difficult to peel but this one has shrunk and does not stick to the skin so just need to press it hard and the shell will crack open and the shrunken nut will drop out without any skin sticking to it.
DeleteOoh, this is my favourite! Over here, I like to buy the aromatic charcoal roasted ones from Carrefour (freshly roasted). It's so much cheaper here... RMB15 for 300gm (RM7+).

So nice! If the price is RM7++ here for 300gm, I will eat it every other day because I just love to eat chestnuts.
DeleteI love to eat this but pricey :(
ReplyDeleteYes, I find it expensive too.
Deletei love roasted chestnuts!!
ReplyDeleteThey are very tasty, aren't they?
DeleteRecently I have been crazy over chestnuts too. I have bought many times from those roasted chestnuts stalls in Petaling Street. Still the best! Just last week the hubby bought 1kg chestnuts. Eat is awesome, peeling them is not. Haha!
ReplyDelete1kg!? So much! It must be very nice (except for the peeling part).
